Always and Always, The Dance, Lucky Ewe from The Proper Stitcher
Three fun new designs are on the way from The Proper Stitcher to us, coming home from Market!
  • Always and Always - I must have flowers Always and Always. Stitched with Weeks hand-dyed flosses this finishes approx 6 x 6 on 32ct. Just simple and very classy!
  • The Dance - Neat verse, gorgeous tree, this is done on 36ct finishing 8 x 9 using Weeks hand-dyed flosses. Love love that tree and the grass... and the house!
  • Lucky Ewe - Something small and quick to work up for St Patrick's Day... choose a background fabric a little darker than this is shown on - we are totally losing the sheep on here! Weeks hand-dyed flosses.. I just now see the tiny floral hat the sheep is wearing! Finishes about 4 x 4 on 32ct.

Quaker Bee II, Home and A Celebration of Spring from Samplers and Primitives
Three new releases by Samplers and Primitives - we love her gentle color shadings. We have gorgeous acorn designs from last Fall, and here are a few Spring pieces.
  • The Quaker Bee II - Pretty golds and greens... pretty touch of Quaker on the edge, everything about it is pleasing to the eye, and it measures 95 - so could finish 4 x 4 if you did it over one on 25 Lugana!
  • Home - Peaceful house, spring-green lawn, I like that huge floral urn peeking behind the house! Measures 136 x 145 - stitched with a medley of hand-dyeds.
  • A Collaboration of Spring - Looks like the same little house - but different landscape! The topper border is really cool because it's different from the other three sides... it's just a little bigger than the HOME piece at 208 x 120.

Presenting Flower Burst Flings and Fobs and Mousy's Strawberry Basket from Luhu Stitches
  • Flower Burst Flings and Fobs Cyndy describes these as a little garden bursting with color Her newest leaflet features all 4 pin cushion designs plus the 2 tiny companion fobs. Stitched on white opalescent fabric, the larger cushion designs are 40 x 40, while the fobs are just 20 x 20. She has bundled her finishing fabrics (1-13 x 18 cut of each fabric print) together for these as well - and we are getting that too! 'Bloom Where You are Planted, Keep Growing, You're Blossoming, and Sunny Days Ahead' are the featured verses. Love the colors, we are bundling the finishing fabrics together with the leaflet.
  • Mousy's Strawberry Basket - Isn't this sweet? Just a mere 50 x 70 in stitch count, little Mousy is hoarding his berry - all in a 'greenery garden basket. Offered as a chart.

Aren't these designs charming?
The Tulip Cottage set of charts features three designs - the Cottage (big at 8 x 11!) , the spray of flowers - Flora's Posies - (medium at 6-1/2 x 4-3/4) , and the darling little bunny - Flora's Basket - sniffing in her garden. Choose any white or pale pink fabric for these, they are shown finished with Lady Dot trims and velveteen of Berry Crush.
Mousy Sweetheart is precious too! He's on any light pink and he's holding a cheese Valentine for you! Finishes bitty - and so cute!/td>

from Luhu Stitches

This is shown stitched on red perforated paper (which is not available in the marketplace at the moment.) It finishes about 4 x 5 on the 14ct... you'll need to shop around for a pretty red background you like. I'm not sure it'd look so cute and 'retro' on a cream background.

Bee-autiful Queen from MTV - click for more
Bee-autiful Queen from MTV
MTV has a very elegant and regal bee design that she has done on 40ct Light Mocha linen using Weeks Dye Works hand-dyeds or DMC flosses.

Just about 4-1/2 x 5-1/2, I like the pop of black trim along the cushion edges.

Noteworthy Needle Turn Turn - click for more Spaghetti Western Sampler by Ardith Designs - click for more
More Super-Singles by Multiple Designers!
  • Turn Turn by Noteworthy Needle - I have absolutely no way to describe to you what this piece does other than the fact that it is a bunch of tiny triangular sides all stitched and finished in such a way that you can turn them inside out and around and your stitching changes to another season. It's all one piece! In looking through the chart, I have concluded that you have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out... or really, really good with visualization and geometrics and have a little patience! Janice had her stitched model at Market and it was enchanting to play with... just the coolest thing. So get this chart, and have fun figuring it out. It's on 32ct fabric and stitched with DMC and some Gentle Art hand-dyeds. The tree in here is stitched in three different seasons, REALLY cool, and you can see that the whole thing is pretty petite - because of the hands in the photograph. Talk about a conversation piece!
  • Spaghetti Western Sampler by Ardith Designs - This is simply super cute! It's got a western theme... with pasta all over in it! Inspired by her mom, who loved the old spaghetti western movies and cooking spaghetti dinners on those Sunday nights, this piece is adorned with meatballs, all sorts of different pasta shapes, (wagon wheels and bow ties!) and of course, cowboys! There is a whole little story about it on the back of the chart. Stitched on a pale red fabric with DMC and/or Gentle Art hand-dyeds, it finishes approx 6 x 9 on 32ct. A REALLY COOL kitchen conversation piece... 'Yee Haw for Good food and Social Justice!'

Quaker Flowers
from Aury TM
This is a delightfully colorful piece full of Quaker inspiration and flowers of every kind. In looking at it, there isn't really a top or bottom! They've done this with flowers going all different directions!

Measuring 350 x 149 - basically 19-1/2 x 8 on 18/36ct; it's tall and skinny - or long and skinny, depending on how you look at it. Coded for regular DMC floss, it's just charming!

If you are an over-achiever, you COULD stitch this end-to-end - flip it - and make a long table runner! Wouldn't that make a statement!

Esther & You Crack Me Up! - So darn cute...
  • Esther measures 63 x 82 - so will finish about 4 x 5 on 32ct. She'd be pretty on lots of different cheerful fabric colors, and you could even leave off the Happy Easter wording and make her into a bunny face plant poke! Just charming!
  • You Crack Me Up needs to be stitched and finished into a brick-style stand-up block. So sweet, it's coded for DMC, but those eggs wouldn't mind some metallic touches! Measuring 120 x 51 - this'll finish just 7-1/2 inches long and 3 inches high on 32ct.

Easter Eggs
from Serenita di Campagna
This is a pair of charts, that together stitch into a set of 8 charming fabric egg cushions. Beautiful bunnies, a chick, hen, bells and a dove, the two that say Happy Easter are larger. They measure 4-1/2 x 6-1/2 on 32ct - if you include the borders and greeting (which is included in English, French and Italian).

The rabbits themselves are just 35 x 55 - so just 2 x 3-1/2. The set of 6 smaller eggs all measure just 34 x 51 - so totally 2 x 3 on that 32ct... with each inside motif a little smaller. Beautifully charted in color, they are coded to DMC floss, and I think they'd be lovely nestled in a basket of dyed eggs and fancy grass.

A mama seagull and her babies play among shells, starfish and other things left on the beach. I think I even see a message in the bottle! Dusty, gorgeous, restfull... it belongs at the waterfront!

Charted for DMC threads, the stitch count is 187 x 119 (12 x 7.5 on 32 ct). The instructions are in Italian, French and English.

Birds and Animals for the Seasons - I Colori delle stagioni #3 and #4
We have come across two set of designs - Birds and Animals for the 4 Seasons - that are charming! From Serenila di Campagna, they come from Italy, and include the seasons charted in English, French and Italian.

The animals one features a cat, squirrel, geese and rabbit... each abut 90 x 50 in stitch count - without their seasons' name below.

The birds are about the same size. I believe all are stitched on Country Vintage Mocha linen, and they are coded for tons of luscious DMC colors! Stitch them together as long pieces, or simply the smaller animals.

New York Dreamer has several rolling pin cover designs at the moment - we have a summer/beach one, pumpkins, one for Valentine's Day, one for Santa and now we have Apple Pie! A cute decoration for your kitchen, get your rolling pin first, then fit your fabric to it... she's used Velcro to attach her band around the pin, but fabric ties would work too.

Something fun and different, it'd make a fun gift for Grandma, as Mom probably doesn't have time to roll out cookie dough!

To Plant a Garden from Forbidden Fiber - click to see more To Plant a Garden from Forbidden Fiber
"To Plant a Garden is to believe in tomorrow." Stitch this for the Green-Thumbed-Person in your life! A Limited Edition design and kit I picked up at Market...it comes from Forbidden Fiber Company. They are 'mean and green' - their threads are hand-dyed, their hand-dyed fabrics match, and this particular kit comes in a hand-dyed cotton zip pouch that matches everything!

The green house design measures 150 x 108 - so around 7 x 9-1/2 on 32ct. The special kit comes with the fabric pouch, chart, 7 skeins of FF hand-dyed floss, a needle minder and the hand-dyed stitching fabric of either 25 Ct Lugana, 16ct Aida, or 40 ct Linen - a generous, hefty kit!. I chose three different fabric options to try to keep everyone happy! It's really pretty, and something fun for a 'plant head!'

Spring Parade #1 from Lila's Studio Spring Parade #2 from Lila's Studio    Spring Parade models from Lila's Studio
Spring Parade from Lila's Studio
What a cute set of bunnies all driving their fruit and vege convertibles! Four 'cars' in two different pattern sets, each ornament measures 70 x 70 stitches - so almost 4 x 4 on 36ct - and is coded for DMC floss.

Make them each into individual stand-up blocks to make a 'train' around a bowl of dyed eggs, but cute all stitched in a row as well. I think my favorite is the Strawberry Car... but Carrot isn't far behind! Set one has the blue egg, basket, carrot race car and duck. Set two has the strawberry, radish, sheep and artichoke cart!

So far we have these same 5 animals featured in Halloween Hoedown, Christmas Hoedown and Patriotic Parade. MAKE SURE to visit Barbie's page... as we have them all pictured there. The horse is now the Galloping Gardener, the sheep is Wooly Wellies.

Next, we have Spring Chickens - can you see them all hiding in the flowers of the trellis? The 4th Is my favorite - that little pig. (He was Uncle Ham in the patriotic one, Heavenly Hog in the Christmas one, and Bat Pig at Halloween - now he's Pigmallion!) And finally, Buzzy Bovine - a cow wearing a bee costume, of course! 5 Small charted desgisn available separately, or in their set!

I think that says 'The Colors of the Garden' doesn't it? I don't need words to convey how pretty this little piece is! Stitched on Waterlily or Star Sapphire Linen, choose your count, it'll finish approx 6 x 6.

Coded for 11 shades of DMC, I love everything about those 20 x 20 stitched squares. Make them individually into cushions... add clay bee buttons instead of stitching the bees, use #8 Pearl Cotton for the white lacy borders to give it texture, make the sheep wooley - this is just the sweetest piece with pretty soft coloring. It's very small, delightfully so, and offered as a chart.

  • Red White & Bantam - It's a mama chicken with her baby - with lots more bright sunflowers. Finishes 5 x 7 - choose a dark gunmetal fabric so the bright colors show up!

Spring is Springing from Val's Stuff
Spring is Springing from Val's Stuff
Two new arrivals by Val's stuff... they hint at Spring, but after this last February weather... who knows?
Spring is Springing features a snowman who's going to melt soon. You don't actually stitch him - that's the background fabric... and the flower on there consists of tiny felt pieces... so actually, this goes pretty fast!

Kit comes with the chart, 28ct Jobelan fabric, and pink felt pieces. You'll need bits of Week's hand-dyed floss from your stash - Chartreuse, Watermelon Punch, Envy and Pumpkin!

Spring Scamper from Luminous Fiber Arts -- click to see more Spring Scamper from Luminous Fiber Arts
Oh my gosh, this is the CUTEST! What a wild ride everyone is enjoying! *It's time for Spring Scamper, the annual race through the tulips to see who is the fastest! The bunny and chick are leaping into the lead, while their friends race to catch up in their carrot-mobile. A chick in a radish plane (that is the best part!) flies overhead towing the race banner while tossing carrots like confetti down on the competitors! What a charming scene!

Presented as a chart, this measures 111 x 266 - so it'll finish approx 7 x 16 on 32ct. Worked with hand-dyeds and lots of DMC, I just love it. You COULD do this on 18ct linen and use #5 Perle Cotton... like the Bent Creek globe kits or the Shepherd's Bush stockings... then finish it into a glorious big couch pillow... it'd measure 12 x 30! (take a ton of thread... but how fun anyway!)

Hands On is releasing this darling design at the show... it features Sulky brand flosses... which we will also have available! Cute new design, wouldn't this be fun finished as a flat 'sign' on a stick to poke into an Spring flower pot or Easter Basket? Life DOES meed more Chocolate Bunnies! Stitched on 32ct Weeks Aspen Linen (or anything medium colored), it measures approx 5 x 5, and features Sulky brand 12-weight Cotton Petite thread.

Cathy HAS coded this for DMC in case trying other thread scares you... but Sulky thread is *SORT OF LIKE* miniature, soft Perle Cotton #12. You use only one strand of this instead of two strands of regular floss. The chart comes with 6 white mini-buttons, the thread is offered separately, and is priced in between regular DMC and the hand-dyeds - so a pretty good value. This is a nice time to step outside your circle and try something a little new... cute design, favorite designer... kind of like a new outfit for Spring!

Would make a beautful pillow bordered in luscious raw silk fabrics!
  • B is for Bunny -- Chart, this one looks cheerful and bold! 171 x 115 -- so 9-1/2 x 6-ish on 18/36ct... I'm sure she's not going to do the whole alphabet... so just enjoy B!
  • Sweet Pea -- This is a FAVORITE so far! Companion to Lori's little standing bunny from last spring, Sweet Pea will stand about 6 inches high stitched on 32ct.
  • Samplar Hare - Mr Samplar Hare is here in chart format!!! Finishing a petite 5-ish inches... isn't he darling! GET this little guy! He was a hit at Market, and I didn't buy nearly enough! Complete assembly instructions are included - Lori showed me that she added lots of random stitches over the top seam - so he would look very hand-made by a young seamstress. His tail is made of your linen threads. Absolutely charming!

  • Thimbelina Flossbobbin - This is a whimsical design... kind of a stitcher self-portrait! Thimbelina is sporting a thimble hat... and her dress is shaped like a floss bobbin! The little scissors there on her dress are actually a teeny 1/2-inch charm. She measures just 50-ish x 35 without her scissor border... but in the model pic, her border is included and she adorns the front of a pin cushion that features a scissor pocket! Easy to change her bobbin color to anything else to match your finishing fabric....
  • Spring Bonnet Bunny - From the artwork of Michelle Palmer, this charming bunny is stitched on black fabric. Choose your poison with black fabric... but at least she's stitched with DMC floss, and the chart is large! She's 65 x 80 stitches.
  • Spring Stitches - Another delightful design that needs to be on something dramatic - like this black - Isn't she precious? She LOVES her pins, needles and thread! Quite a few more stitches than Ms Spring Bonnet Bunny, Ms Little Mousey measures 148 x 139... and this pic has her stitched over ONE thread on 25ct! If that isn't a possibility, consider 14 black Aida (The Cross Stitch Police will not come knock on your door and scold you in the privacy of your own home if you can't see the smaller stuff!) She'll be charming at 10 x 10! Coded for DMC.

All are worked with hand-dyed flosses... the LINEN berries are featured on linen fabric, the SILK berries are featured on 40ct silk gauze... but you can do them on whatever you like better. This entire collection is just enchanting, and all are presented in chart format.
  • The Needle Berry features a cute little sewing bird, a tape measure and tomato pin cushion motifs. The silk gauze version is actually larger in stitch count than the linen version, so the finished sizes can get confusing on these!
  • Sunshine Berry's Linen version has just the big flower, while the gauze version - because it has a higher stitch count (because you are on smaller fabric) has room for the *You Are My Sunshine* verse.

  • Apple Blossoms Sampler is gorgeous! Worked on 32ct Tumbleweed (a dusty green linen) it measures JUST 2-1/2 x 12 inches in size. It's NOT large!!! The bird in the tree branches, what makes this dramatic are the apple blossoms and light colored alphabet letters. As always, Cynthia tosses a lot of special stitches into her designs -- for lots of texture and interest -- makes them more fun to stitch!
  • Sweet Violet & Common Lilac -- Well one of these got left behind in the 'cute name department!!!' A new set of small botanicals, these each finish only 54 stitches square -- 3-1/2 inches square on 30ct Antique Lambswool Linen. Hand-dyed silks... special stitches... these would make gorgeous pin cushions all nestled together in a neat old basket. Presented as charts with or without the silks.

Oh... I took a class at Market and MADE this little beaded fob!!!!!!!!!! Those Fern Ridge Gals are way too happy and have so much fun with their designs and kits... we had such a fun afternoon! Pretty Peas -- The Fob -- is a Peyote Stitch piece -- actually very basic and small in size. You see that pea vine on there -- that's tacked on after the basic beading is finished. Then, that lavish trim... just cool beads all strung together zip-zap! Their complete kit contains ALL the cool beads and charms, the threads, the findings, everything!

The matching stitched Pretty Peas Sewing Case is DARLING! Stitched on Week's 30ct Parchment linen, the complete kit is a treasure-package of hand-dyed silk ribbons and threads, and the embellishments include a little bit of wood, pea beads, Delica beads, CHARMING mother-of-pearl flower buttons, bone thread winders, and even a pea pod charm that matches the one on the fob. Eggs Ala Round from Glendon Place - click to see more Eggs Ala Round from Glendon Place
Wow... you won't want to hide these eggs before Easter! Glendon Place has outdone herself with this colorful medley of beautifully decorated eggs! Eggs Ala Round features 16 different eggs -- all coded for 45 different DMC or Anchor flosses, 9 metallic #4 braids, and 12 colors of Mill Hill beads and even Gentle Art's Spring Grass hand-dyed floss for the greenery.

Finishing approx 13 inches round on 28ct linen, I think what makes this piece so incredible is that almost all the eggs are designed on a diagonal, which is really hard to do! So many different stripes and spots, each little egg is charming just by itself! Wouldn't they be pretty stitched (even on several different colors of linens) and finished into egg shapes, and all tucked into a basket of Easter Grass? The larger eggs all measure approx 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 while the smaller ones run a bit over 1 x 1-1/2 inches. Just pretty, pretty, pretty! Offered as a leaflet.

Harried Hare from SamSarah Design Studio - click for more Harried Hare
from SamSarah Design Studio
Oh my gosh.. this is so cute! Bunnies dashing with their carts of carrots seem to be the Springtime theme this year, and this one looks to be quite a confident driver! Harried Hare finishes approx 10 x 4 on Weeks 30ct Baby's Breath Linen. The cart of eggs is totally colorful, but what makes the whole leaflet are those STITCHED and STUFFED carrots! They are stitched on hand-dyed Weeks 28ct Scuppernong Gingham Linen. You can see the wavy green tops... that is the left-over un-stitched fabric that you have cut in a curvy shape and button-hole stitched around the edges to make it wave.

It is such a cool finishing idea -- Patti has great finishing instructions and actual stitch and fabric photos on the back page of the leaflet, so you'll totally understand what to do! (Flipping the center carrot upside down on the linen will save fabric -- but you can always purchase more than I estimate here.) So different, so *artsy-fartsy*, (spell checker doesn't like that word!), all is stitched in a medley of pretty hand-dyed cottons, you could always add embellishments if you like!

Well, I have a grandson this would be perfect for... oh, if only I stitched! (No, your Weary Webmaster, writing this description in Lindy's absence, doesn't stitch... isn't that ironic?) The design has a historic flavor that reminds me of the time of the old NY Yankees... Babe Ruth and all that.
Little Ballerinas from Country Cottage Needleworks -- click to see moreStitched with Crescent Colours threads, it measures about 8 1/2 x 5 1/4, and comes with an alphabet so you can personalize it.
Little Ballerinas, a design for dancers and those who love them, is the same size, and also includes the alphabet. The overdyed threads used in some areas give you more dimension, don't you think?

Just Nan's third breathtaking seasonal manor house sampler has also arrived. I would be thrilled to live at Bellemeade, Winterhaven or Silkwood Manor... but I'm not so sure I could afford the mortgage!!! Straight from Nan's creative imagination comes this exquisite study in brilliant, rich summer color, gardens full of ripe strawberries and graceful wildflowers, morning glories and ladybugs, running rabbits and a swan swimming in the pond, and stitch after special stitch!!!

A commanding piece, Bellemeade finishes approx 9-1/2 x 13 on 30ct Cameo Shell Legacy Linen. Stitched in an incredible assortment of silks and some pretty wools, the thread assortment includes enough to stitch the tiny 3 x 3 matching needle case piece, as well. (It features that pretty swan in the pond!)

Lovely borders and motifs, the verse reads While summer days are long and sweet, with blossoms ever new, I'll show to others of my time, what clever hands can do. Offered as the chart with overdyed silk, beads and gold butterfly charm; silks and linen offered separately. I just love this!!!

Seasons of the Trees from Rosewood Manor
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... see all the trees -- their many greens and browns -- throughout the seasons... Spring at the left... flowing into Winter at the right. Rosewood Manor's Karen Kluba has a real talent for her trees, her lacy motifs, her full, balanced, busy and intriguing designs! You can study her things over and over again, and each time, you're treated to some new little detail tucked somewhere in there! Seasons of the Trees is no different!

Offered as a leaflet, this is stitched on 28ct and measures a generous 11 x 18. Worked with regular DMC flosses... you'll use 48 of them from your stash! Her charts are huge... and best of all... in paging through the leaflet, I find 14 BONUS charts... little (and some a bit larger) take-outs from the main design that are suitable for needle books, ornaments, fobs, and mini-samplers! There is so much in here... if you like this one, check out 'And a Forest Grew' and the two Christmas Stockings -- Cranberries and Pines! Really unique, definitely worth your stitching time!

Sweet Harmony
from Teresa Layman
Needlework accessories worked with Colonial and French Knots... this is a charming set that's done with the same technique her miniature knotted rugs are... but finished into a special set of stitching cases!!! A pastel garden of flowers surrounds this busy beehive... and I love that yellow and butterscotch checkered border that sets it all off!!! Three coordinating pieces, each of the stitched pieces is offered stamped onto the heavy ground muslin.

Complete instructions are provided for 'knotting' and finishing everything... but I'm guessing this is for a bit of an advanced stitcher and seamstress -- (I can knot, but I can't sew, so I'll send mine out for finishing!!!) The stitched areas feature knots done in one stand of floss, to create a soft looks that reminds you of miniature punch needle! Your scissor case will finish approx 2-1/4 x 3-1/2, Needlebook will measure approx 2 x 2-1/2, and the fob is a 1-1/4 x 1/2 inch oval.

Included in the package are the patterns stamped on the fabric, needles, acid-free boards for forms, ivory flannel for needlebook pages, lobster claw clasp for the fob, and instructions for everything! Absolutely exquisite... this will DEFINITELY become a treasured heirloom!!!
