from Fern Ridge Collections
Oh... I took a class at Market and MADE this little beaded fob!!!!!!!!!! Those Fern Ridge Gals are way too happy and have so much fun with their designs and kits... we had such a fun afternoon! Pretty Peas -- The Fob -- is a Peyote Stitch piece -- actually very basic and small in size. You see that pea vine on there -- that's tacked on after the basic beading is finished. Then, that lavish trim... just cool beads all strung together zip-zap! Their complete kit contains ALL the cool beads and charms, the threads, the findings, everything!

The matching stitched Pretty Peas Sewing Case is DARLING! Stitched on Week's 30ct Parchment linen, the complete kit is a treasure-package of hand-dyed silk ribbons and threads, and the embellishments include a little bit of wood, pea beads, Delica beads, CHARMING mother-of-pearl flower buttons, bone thread winders, and even a pea pod charm that matches the one on the fob. I love the bright colors, and I'm so proud of my little fob!

Spring 2012 Buttons & Beads from Mill Hill
Mill Hill presents their Spring 2012 Button & Bead Kits! If you've ever seen our shop display, or visited one of our booths at a show, you know how much we love these projects!!! Always offered as complete kits loaded with floss and beads -- we always take out the perf paper and stitch our models on aida or linen! They just glisten, and catch the eye.

Live Simply is a colorful, summery scene, I picture it in a kitchen, or maybe hanging in the hallway near the back door and all the jackets and keys -- kind of a reminder of what to do when you leave the house! Love 2 shop -- *don't know a soul* that this fits!!! Millinery shoppe -- this is another in the Main Street Shops and Churches Series of designs. Along with all the (think there are 18!) Christmas Village houses, we have a Flower Shop, a Needlework Shoppe, a bakery... these look cool finished into little standing blocks -- to make your stitched village!

Stitch in Time is BY FAR my personal favorite this time around! I know THOUSANDS of people that this fits!!!!!!!! Luck of the Irish is strikingly gold and green -- very vibrant in color, and Home Run is a sports-fanatic's dream! It companions the Football design from last season -- very classy in design and color. All of these finish approx 5 x 5 on a 14/28ct. You can use 14 aida or 28ct linen, or the 14ct perforated paper that comes in the kits. A nice selection this year -- check out the smaller 3 x 3 ornament-sized kits -- they all coordinate with these!

Spring Bouquet 2012 from Mill Hill
Mill Hill's 3 x 3 ornament-sized kits, these work well for fridge magnets, little pins to wear, and of course, ornaments! Lion Heart should appeal to all the International Lions Club members world wide! Rubber Ducky would make a darling bathroom decoration or cute package tie for a baby gift. Baseball Mitt matches that cool Home Run larger kit. Tomato Pincushion is my favorite -- again -- tie it around the strap of your stitching tote!!! Monarch Butterfly is just plain gorgeous -- put a suction cup on the back and stick it to your kitchen window. Firecracker is a cute summer decoration -- might be fun as a plant poke!

All are offered as complete kits of 14ct paper, flosses, beads, chart and needles. A GREAT BARGAIN because there is a lot of thread and bead product in them... we've been carrying these for over 15 years... just love 'em!

Mother Hens from Filigram - click to see more Mother Hens from FiligramWhat an awesomely contemporary and endearing scene! A trio of concerned Mama Hens are tending to their little chicks who are playing in the garden. A pretty, relaxed, loose design style, this looks young and fresh.

Charted for DMC or Gentle Art Sampler Threads, it has a stitch count of 151 x 105, so will finish approx 6-1/2 x 9-1/2 on 32ct. Very classy!
Don't miss the other two new designs, shown below.

Summer Vegetables from Filigram - click to see more Spring Vegetables from Filigram - click to see more Spring & Summer Vegetables from FiligramI love these matching seasonal garden scenes! The picket fence that surrounds everything, all the neat and tended rows, the yummy fruits and vegetables, the shovels, spades, rakes and watering cans, and those darling scarecrows -- they rule the gardens!

Very well done with lots of cute motifs that are very recognizable, the charts are printed in color. Coded for Gentle Art Sampler Threads or DMC flosses, these finish approx 6-1/2 x 9-1/2 on 32ct.

Eggs Ala Round from Glendon Place - click to see more Eggs Ala Round from Glendon Place
Wow... you won't want to hide these eggs before Easter! Glendon Place has outdone herself with this colorful medley of beautifully decorated eggs! Eggs Ala Round features 16 different eggs -- all coded for 45 different DMC or Anchor flosses, 9 metallic #4 braids, and 12 colors of Mill Hill beads and even Gentle Art's Spring Grass hand-dyed floss for the greenery.

Finishing approx 13 inches round on 28ct linen, I think what makes this piece so incredible is that almost all the eggs are designed on a diagonal, which is really hard to do! So many different stripes and spots, each little egg is charming just by itself! Wouldn't they be pretty stitched (even on several different colors of linens) and finished into egg shapes, and all tucked into a basket of Easter Grass? The larger eggs all measure approx 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 while the smaller ones run a bit over 1 x 1-1/2 inches. Just pretty, pretty, pretty! Offered as a leaflet.

Love is -- click for more Love is from Shepherd's Bush
Love is Where you Plant it! Teri's newest design this is a spring garden full of happy, cheerful wildflowers. Stitched on 28ct Antique White linen, (28ct Lugana or 14ct Aida would be great with this, too) it is coded for overdyed flosses or DMC's -- your choice. Finishing approx 8 x 12, it features a smattering of Just Another Button Company buttons, little bees, bugs and flowers.

You'll notice that this companions with her newest Tiny Garden Scissor Fob and her little Free-Bee bumble bee charm along with it's freebie pin cushion design! A super-colorful, *quick stitch!*

Harried Hare from SamSarah Design Studio - click for more Harried Hare
from SamSarah Design Studio
Oh my gosh.. this is so cute! Bunnies dashing with their carts of carrots seem to be the Springtime theme this year, and this one looks to be quite a confident driver! Harried Hare finishes approx 10 x 4 on Weeks 30ct Baby's Breath Linen. The cart of eggs is totally colorful, but what makes the whole leaflet are those STITCHED and STUFFED carrots! They are stitched on hand-dyed Weeks 28ct Scuppernong Gingham Linen. You can see the wavy green tops... that is the left-over un-stitched fabric that you have cut in a curvy shape and button-hole stitched around the edges to make it wave.

It is such a cool finishing idea -- Patti has great finishing instructions and actual stitch and fabric photos on the back page of the leaflet, so you'll totally understand what to do! (Flipping the center carrot upside down on the linen will save fabric -- but you can always purchase more than I estimate here.) So different, so *artsy-fartsy*, (spell checker doesn't like that word!), all is stitched in a medley of pretty hand-dyed cottons, you could always add embellishments if you like!

Have Carrots... Will travel! from The Workbasket - click to see more Have Carrots... Will travel!
from The WorkbasketWe fell in love with this design at Market... SUCH a fun piece! Check out that dashing rabbit.. he's going at least 50 miles per hour! And... check out the carrots on the Carrot Express Wagon... I'd be rushing to stash these babies as fast as I could, too, because they're so plump and deliciously knarley! The greens are all Rhodes Stitches of green -- so they're all little bumps on here -- an awesome texture treatment! (pattern doesn't tell you to do that, but I remember the model and you can kind of see some different detail in the cover pic.)

Design is stitched in one strand of Belle Soie Silk on hand-dyed 28ct Week's Blue Jeans Gingham Linen, so neat, this finishes an impressive 8 x 14. (Easy for us to convert to Crescent Colours cottons, if you'd rather, and gentle on the budget at approx $18... but I'd get an extra ecru and orange... so maybe $22.50!)

Erica Michaels has outdone herself again... with 4 new 40ct silk gauze designs... here are just 2! Teeny-Weeny Easter and St Pats finish approx 1-1/2 x 2... and are stitched with only a HALF a Cross Stitch, with ONE strand of floss. Just like stitching 'over one' on linen... the gauze is actually thinner than linen, so the holes are twice the size. Doesn't seem to make sense, but trust me!

Darling little designs, each is offered as the chart with bitty gauze cut. They mount into Olde Colonial's miniature frames -- we have every single one -- so your tiny masterpieces WILL turn out like these! (3 Days before Market, we had Linda's Easter model in the shop. I LOST it... and it was re-stitched in 11 hours... in time to show at Market! Lesson learned... these are exquisitely tiny... but very stitchable!!!

The charting on these is a bit different than our US designers use... these patterns feature some half and quarter stitches. Instead of a tiny 1/4 stitch... you work the whole X, but over one thread. Consequently, you'll need to choose an 'over two' fabric... not Aida for these. So cute!

Biscornu (pronounced bis-core-new, but I've heard it bis-corn-you, too!) refers to a shape. The shape of the these 3 x 3 cushions is almost an optical illusion. The pillow is actually constructed of two squares of material, joined together with the corners offset from each other! So, now that the finishing isn't scary anymore... you can stitch these in a jiffy and either use them as ornaments or pincushions!

Offered as a set of the chart, 32ct Opalescent Raw Belfast Linen, and a small packet of beads, pearls and corner embellishments, you supply the DMC flosses needed. Sweet Harmony
from Teresa Layman
Needlework accessories worked with Colonial and French Knots... this is a charming set that's done with the same technique her miniature knotted rugs are... but finished into a special set of stitching cases!!! A pastel garden of flowers surrounds this busy beehive... and I love that yellow and butterscotch checkered border that sets it all off!!! Three coordinating pieces, each of the stitched pieces is offered stamped onto the heavy ground muslin.

Complete instructions are provided for 'knotting' and finishing everything... but I'm guessing this is for a bit of an advanced stitcher and seamstress -- (I can knot, but I can't sew, so I'll send mine out for finishing!!!) The stitched areas feature knots done in one stand of floss, to create a soft looks that reminds you of miniature punch needle! Your scissor case will finish approx 2-1/4 x 3-1/2, Needlebook will measure approx 2 x 2-1/2, and the fob is a 1-1/4 x 1/2 inch oval.

Included in the package are the patterns stamped on the fabric, needles, acid-free boards for forms, ivory flannel for needlebook pages, lobster claw clasp for the fob, and instructions for everything! Absolutely exquisite... this will DEFINITELY become a treasured heirloom!!!

The Trilogy releases two new Secret Garden pieces... they coordinate with all 7 of the rest in this series!!! Really cute, each is offered as a kit of chart, 32ct Belfast Linen and button embellishments -- you add the floss.

Fun little 4 x 4 collages of tiny motifs, Secret Crush definitely has a top and bottom... while Shamrock and the rest have things facing every-which direction scattered throughout!

Charming, we keep finishing our shop models into stand-up cubes, because they present so well that way. Browse down the Trilogy page to see if you can spot the rest of these... Secret Snowdrift has been the favorite so far, with Flower coming in second! All are fun!

The companion to Ornamentology -- a Christmas design -- this is a collection of small spring motifs that can be stitched alone or together, on big count or little! So many options, so little time!!! Available as a leaflet.
