The 2017 Annual Christmas Scene by Praiseworthy Stitches, this is the 5th, and companions Churchyard Christmas, Going to Grandmas, Carols on the Square, and Santa's Moonlight Flight. There is a snowball fight going on in the center of town, it erupted over a snowman building contest... and Santa is flying overhead, seeing who's being naughty or nice!!!!
YOU are the nice one...stitching this darling piece on 32ct Nocturne Linen from Picture This Plus. Finishing approx 19 x 12, it's full of details and lots of color. The houses are especially pretty this year. Kind of big... but super fun to work up and pull out every year to delight all!
Sale at The Bubbling Cauldron
This year, Pam and Susan have a half-sized Halloween Spooky House scene. The Bubbling Cauldron (The Silver Needle of Halloween Supplies) is having a Midnight Madness Sale on October 31st!!! Imagine that! All the customers have come in costume! Tonight's specials include flying brooms, snake eggs, love potions and cauldrons to make them, along with croaking toads (maybe to cook in that cauldron?)
Stitched on 32ct Haunted by Picture This Plus, this has ALL THE CHARM of their larger annual houses... but it's half the size... so faster to work up. Stitched with hand-dyed flosses, there is a button pack of embellishments available as well. GREAT colors... we have the model in the shop .. THIS IS CUTE.. and worth your time! Such a lively and fun Halloween decoration!
Hooray for the Red, White & Blue
A sweet little patriotic piece, this finishes only 5 x 6 on 32ct. Presented as the chart, you get the star embellishment in with the chart.
*Fireworks and cookouts parades and sparklers -- it's always inspiring and fun* Pam and Susan send Happy 4th Of July Thoughts!!! I think this would be cute if you left off the bottom row of people and dogs... you're already delivering a pretty good message here!
This year's mini-tin kit... this one features your stitching on top -- a little spooky owl -- and then lots of smalls inside. The tin measures 3 x 4 x 1-2 inches in size. Inside you get materials to stitch the side lining band that says 'Happy Owl-oween." The complete kit contains three different calico fabrics, linens for your stitching, loads of beads, (cute ones to make the owl scissor fob) and even some metallic black rik rak.
You'll be making a Flying Cat Thread Winder, A Trick or Treat Thimble Bag, and that beaded fob, all to tuck into your pin-cushion-topped little tin! Everything is black, green, purple and orange. Colorful and cute!
This is a tribute to Autumn, and the garden harvest... as favored by the Rook!!! Kind of a Quaker feel to this... the Pumpkin square says *Pompion* which is the colonial word for pumpkin!
The squash, corn and pumpkins are all Mr Rook's absolute favorites... and they fit into this 7 x 6 piece stitched on Weeks 30ct Cocoa Linen.
A Spider's Sewing Trifle Kit
This is a very small kit to make a 40 x 110-ish (2 x 3-inch) little trifold sewing case. The kit contains the chart, some linen, black felt to make a spider pin cushion to hide inside, flosses, a silver spider charm, two different black and orange finishing fabrics and sparkly green tulle for a ruffled edge finishing treatment, ribbon and a piece of felt for interfacing and padding.
When you've finished it, it would be cute hanging as a small seasonal Halloween ornament... from a scrawny tree branch, or tucked right into a bowl of pin cushions!
Bump N. D'Knight Farm
Praiseworthy Stitches has unveiled their annual Haunted House Piece for 2016! Here's a sneak peek! Such a wild collection of these gigantic houses... you need big, empty walls... or lots of holiday excitement (little kids are great at this) to enjoy the full impact of these! Bump N D'Knight Farm companions Witch's B & B, Darkwing, Croaking Toad and Ravenswood Manors as well as Seedy Pumpkin Cottage. 32ct Haunted hand-dyed linen by Picture This Plus is this year's fabric choice, and along with bits of bead and metallic (silver spider webs) embellishments, there is a set of clay JABCO buttons as well.
In looking at this... I think you could split the elements up a little if you haven't the space to display the whole piece -- or the discipline to stitch it all. Look at the main house with carriage and tree in front! Anyway, there is definitely something fishy happening in the bard on this busy Trick or Treat night! Approx 15-1/2 x 20 on 32ct... coded for DMC or hand-dyed flosses... you'll use a ton of thread! Ships around August 19.
Praiseworthy Stitches has a new Summertime design -- an old fashioned ball game in the park! Stitched on 32ct light green linen with DMC and Weeks flosses, this finishes approx 12-1/2 x 6 on 28ct. It's Spring and the whole town has turned out to cheer for their teams at the first baseball game of the season. The wooden stands are packed and there are children in wagons and on the fences -- even the dog is in the outfield ready to catch one of the balls on the fly! Can't you just smell the peanuts, popcorn and the hot dogs? Yummmm! It's time to play ball!
The Just Another Button Company buttons that garnish are *everywhere* in here... striped stars, the baseball, and all those little triangle flags -- those are buttons!
Rudy & Friend and Say Boo Scissor Fobs
The gals at Praiseworthy Stitches make the CUTEST scissor fob kits! The others always seem to sell out and not stay on the website for very long... here are the two new ones for this year. Presented in 2-inch square cubes, those little boxes are CRAMMED full of all your ingredients. And... they are ONLY $12 each!!! The only thing you will need is DENTAL FLOSS! It lasts forever and doesn't fray, the say! The other little trick they don't tell you about is clear nail polish inside the crimp bead at the top -- that NEVER lets your threads go! Your fobs will turn out about 5 inches long, and take about 2 to 3 hours from start to finish. (less, if you're fast)
Rudy & Friend -- You stitch Rudolph's face (whole stitched area is only 28 x 28 stitches) with the provided DMC floss on the provided bit of 32ct cream linen. The kit includes bright red and green backing fabric for him, the clamshell attachment, and all the novelty beads you see on the main string and an assortment of seed and bugle beads for the bottom loops.
Say Boo! -- This one features a cat and ghost stitched in that 30 x 30 stitch area. You get a cut of 32ct linen, all the DMC flosses, black and white mini-chevron finishing fabric, and a little bag of purple, green, orange and black beads and crystals. All you need is that dental floss and maybe a drop of nail polish! This is another 5-ish inch cutie!
Creepy Casket Etui
Open the lid on this scarry little 7 x 3 x 2 decorated paper coffin (which come in orange, black or purple) to find all the parts to make a lot of Halloween silliness -- all stitching smalls! There is a 9 x 12 cut of 32ct cream linen in here, NINE different bits of cute coordinating backing fabrics for all the pieces, all the DMC flosses you need to stitch everything, along with a baggie full of six different ribbons, a green painted spool, and a bunch of various green, orange, pink, black and purple beads to string and garnish everything. You'll be making a Skeleton Scissor Sheath, Tombstone Scissor Fob, Pumpkin Emery, a Shost Thread Holder, Tombstone Needle Book, and Spider Pin Cushion and Tape Measure. When it's not Halloween-time, your smalls can *rest in peace* in thier little coffin!
Simple Gifts - Grace
Part of Susan and Pam's series of Quaker-inspired designs, this finishes approx 13 inches square on 32ct linen. It is stitched with 6 skeins of Merlin, 2 Peoria Purple and 2 Lilac. (Of course, you can change that main purple color to something else, if you want!)
Motifs collected from old samplers... Susan and Pam say "it's like those young girls whispering down the years saying remember we were here." 20% of the profits from this chart go to the Abby Grace Foundation for Sanflippo Syndrome research.
A Churchyard Christmas
Praiseworthy Stitches has released their annual Christmas Scene, and this year, it is the chaos that surrounds the annual Children's Churchyard Nativity. All is not well! Halos are crooked, crowns are bent, and some of the camels have escaped!
Kindergarten and 1st Grade Teachers Pam and Susan have lots of personal experience with these school events, and decided it was time to share them!!! Their endearing picture measures approx 19 x 12, is stitched on 32ct Picture This Plus Mirage Linen and calls for no less than 39 different hand-dyed or DMC shades!!!!! (you'll need 10 skeins of Snowflake!!!)
Yet another charming scene... it joins Going to Grandma's, Carols on the Square and Santa's Midnight Flight. Presented as a chart, we have the gorgeous deep gray hand-dyed 32ct Mirage linen cut ready -- it gives all this that deepening-wintery-dusky sky feel. Pretty houses and the church, darling little costumes on the children, there are touches of metallic (5760, 009HL and 003HL) and beads (42039, 42013, 40557) here and there to add bits of sparkle. Always something new and cute when you look at this!
La Petit Etui Noel
The Praiseworthy Stitches Gals made another cute seasonal tin kit that delivers a whole bunch of cute smalls! Limited to 200 -- it comes in either a Santa or Snowman 4 x 6 x 2-ish inch decorated tin. Inside, my gosh, you'll find a MILLION little pieces of fabrics, felts and linings, a jingle bell, a couple of thread rings, ric-rak, ribbons, sequins, some metallic red mini-garland, red, gold, white and green seed beads, DMC flosses, along with the charts and assembly instructions.
You'll be making a Santa & Rudolf needlebook, a thimble purse, a bell-shaped magnetic needle minder (trimmed with that jingle bell), snowflake emery, snowman thread winder, and a pincube with all sorts of cute little things on each of the sides. Store it all back in the little tin - or hang them all on your tree for the season!!! (and THEN pack them away in the little tin!)
Seedy Pumpkin Cottage
Praiseworthy Stitches has released their 8th annual haunted house scene and this year's is SO AWESOME! Seedy Pumpkin Cottage is full of wispy ghosts, shiny spider webs, black cats and carved pumpkins... and all of it is underneath the glowing Jack-O-Lantern Moon. Stitched on Picture This Plus's 32ct Echo Linen (an awesome grey/teal midnight-sky color), there is so much going on in here that it has enchanted us in the shop!
The model arrived today -- patterns should be here soon -- clay button embellishments and fabric follows later this week. Finishing approx 21 x 15... it is HUGE and quite the eye-catcher! Coded for DMC or Weeks and Gentle Art hand-dyeds you'll need multiple skeins of 12 of the 41 colors called for, along with silver metallic for the spider webs, petite Mill Hill glass beads and a FULL clay button pack of spiders, ghosts, bats and even a little owl.
The white fence around the porch is really neat because it is done with long stitches of white thread but they have added three teeny orange beads to each railing post -- it glistens! Yes... this might take all year to stitch... but WOW, what a fun and creative seasonal decoration that everyone can enjoy year after year!!! Seedy Pumpkin Cottage is the place to be on The Big Night!!!!!
Frankie & Friends
This is a real cute set of stitched Halloween Smalls -- everything comes as a compact kit packaged in a 4 x 4 x 4 decorated Halloween box! Frankenstein, a mummy or Jack-o-lantern decorate the little boxes, and inside you'll find a multitude of bitty things! There is a 2 x 2 x 2 black plastic cauldron -- your ORT bucket.
Next, all the fabrics you'll need to stitch the 1-inch cube that is Frank's head -- doubling as a thimble box -- the white to make the tombstone needlecase -- even the yellow Trick or Treat case.
Beads, charms, ribbons, even the google eyes that get glued into the bottom of the cauldron -- The Praiseworthy Gals thought of everything in here! When you're all finished, everything fits back into the little box to be stored away till next year!
Dancing in the Moonlight
Praiseworthy Stitches has a new Halloween Scene... a little smaller than their annual haunted houses... this will make a grand companion to frame and display with all your others! *There's an unusual party in the pale moonlight. Pumpkins are glowing, crows are singing and even the cat is yowling along. Everyone is rocking to the beat. See how the ghosts are swirling? But look, the skeletons have pulled out their top hats and canes They have started a sensational all-bone review! Don't miss your chance to join in the celebration!*
Stitched on Picture This Plus 32ct Haunted Linen (a gorgeous teal hand-dyed) with Weeks, Gentle Art and DMC flosses, it features Mill Hill beads and lots of handmade clay buttons by Just Another Button Company. 156 x 201 stitches, it'll finish approx 9-3/4 x 12-1/2 on the 32ct. Full of Susan and Pam's silliness, you could even personalize your grave stones! Offered as the chart, with fabrics and embellishments offered separately.
Going to Grandma's
Susan and Pam have released another charming winter scene -- this year's features Grandma's House decked out to the MAX for the Holiday! *Christmas is here and everyone is arriving at Grandma's house! The snow is falling, the kids are making a snowman and the rest of the family is finally here. Can't you hear the squeels and delight as everyone greets each other? See Grandma on the walkway waving to them? Look, even Santa and Rudolph have arrived! It is a time for love, delight and laughter.*
Stitched on 32ct Nocturne by Picture This Plus (a luscious greyed-blue fabric), this finishes approx 11 x 9 -- MUCH more compact than some of the other annual scenes! Worked with Sampler Threads and Weeks hand-dyeds, (several multiple skeins of the same colors), along with a few blending filaments and Mill Hill beads, it is full of charming details just like all the rest of Praiseworthy's houses! Offered as the chart with fabric and threads separately. Get the chart, and check your stash for needed thread.
Simple Gifts - Christmas
A pretty Quaker-inspired piece, this year, the sampler uses three colors, and finishes the same size as all the rest in this series -- approx 13 x 13 on 32ct. It needs 6 skeins of Moss, and 2 each of Indian Summer and Whiskey.
No special stitches -- just a lovely medley of motifs -- randomly scattered -- PERFECTLY! Offered as a chart.
Praiseworthy Stitches' Annual Haunted House is Here!!! Every year, these get more and more involved with cute design details and tiny hidden surprises everywhere. Darkwing Manor is stuffed full of creepy monsters, ghosts and goblins, and spiders, cats and bats. Everyone is waiting to scare the darling little Trick-or-Treaters -- all dressed in their favorite outfits to scare -- out there in the front yard!
Stitched on Picture This Plus Dawn (a lovely deep teal blue/gray) with TONS of DMC (34 different colors) or Gentle Art Sampler Threads -- there are 22 colors in here that require multiple skeins of the same colors, there is also lots of silver metallic for all the spider webs. The Just Another Button Company button embellishment pack offers 3 grave stones, three jack-o-lanterns, a tiny Frankenstein face, 4 clay spiders and 11 bats!!!! Pam and Susan have added citron green petite seed beads to lots of the eyes of the more seedy characters in this as well.
Just a really fun, bustling scene... there is a lot of stitching in here... but since there are so many different parts, you see your picture developing FAST before your eyes! Very entertaining to work on! Pam and Susan have done an EXCELLENT job charting this. The backstitches, spider webs, button and bead placements -- all that -- is printed in color on the chart, and the chart itself is CLEAR with good symbols and printed 10 squares to the inch. Darkwing Manor will command attention on your wall... it finishes 21-1/2 x 15! Offered as the chart with fabric and clay offered separately.
Carols on the Square
Praiseworthy Stitches has released this year's Christmas Scene -- a companion Santa's Midnight Flight. (We're starting to get a fun collection of these patterns -- just like their series of Halloween Haunted Houses! VERY detailed and full of whimsical design elements.) Back to Christmas! *Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night!* Stitched on Picture This Plus 32ct Nocturne hand-dyed linen, a 18 x 27 cut, the linen is a gorgeous greyed-denim blue -- a fantastic darkened winter sky on a cloudy, snowy evening.
The charming houses in the village are lit for the Holidays, and everyone seems to be out tonight caroling. Santa is up there in his sleigh... yes, he is standing... because this is his sleigh -- not a rowboat! The big tree in the foreground is full of stitched texture, it features Smyrnas if you like. Houses feature Satin Stitched planks, while windows are decorated with mini-garlands of petite glass seed beads. You're going to need a few reels of metallic blending filament, those three seed bead colors and LOTS of Weeks and Gentle Art over-dyed flosses -- 53 skeins in all!!!!!! The colors in this are Grand!!! There are even a pair of JABCO buttons up in the top corners -- Rudolph and the sleigh! Very enchanting this year... just break down and get it... it'll be fun to page through and start when it's 100 degrees this summer!!!

Offered as a chart, it measures 212 x 204 in stitch count and features motifs from antique Quaker Samplers. Worked in only 2 colors -- 9 skeins of Black Raspberry Jam and just one of Schneckley!
Widow Black's B & B
Praiseworthy Stitches annual huge haunted house has arrived!!! Widow Black has opened her very own Bed and Breakfast to *Guests.* Tasty Delights are served every afternoon in her private parlour... she thinks it is simply delightful that many of her guests have been tied up for the entire afternoon... and that many linger way past check-out time! Widow Black does remind guests that they may have to share their rooms with her long-time boarders... who love to watch for fresh arrivals!

I don't know about you... but I think Pam and Susan are out-doing themselves every year! Offered as the chart, we have the fabric cut separately, as well as the clay button packs! (Fabrics for the previous 4 Haunted Houses are now here as well, if you are needing them!)
Simple Gifts -- Courage

Stitched on anything you wish... in any colors you wish... this finishes approx 13 x 13 on 32ct. 20% of the chart's profits are being donated to The American Cancer Society.
Mon Petite Jardin
A charming little garden piece... you are supposed to finish this into an E-Device Cover!!! Your linen choice will depend on your equipment. Charted for Weeks and Gentle Art hand-dyeds and/or DMC flosses, it's a colorful design that can handle a busy print if you like... or something a little more relaxing.
I am not a seamstress... so I glazed over all the pages of finishing instructions in here. I just liked the design -- cover or no cover!!! Offered as the chart.
Croaking Toad Manor
Praiseworthy Stitches has another annual haunted house, and this year's is just as busy and (charming?) SCARY as the rest!!! Presented as a chart with clay button set additional, this finishes quite large -- just like all it's companions. A whopping 15 x 20 on 32ct, we have Mirage Belfast for you.
The design is full of great details -- just so much to look at and enjoy. There is a toad in the pond with a witch hat... He's the culprit who's stirring up the landscape! Charted for DMCs or lots of Gentle Art and Weeks overdyeds. It also features a smidge of silver metallic and a few Mill Hill beads.
Santas Midnight Flight
Praiseworthy Stitches other cool piece this season... this piece is *really pretty!* There are red and gold metallic blending filaments stitched into the border, and on the reindeer... so as it contrasts against the evening sky (choose a night-sky color) The snowflakes in the sky are Smyrna Crosses, Santa has a beard of Wisper thread, and there are beads embellishing here and there and everywhere!
Charted for DMC or hand-dyeds, just a neat, balanced, organized design!!! The sleepy village -- people are stitched over one in the yards -- and can you see some of the reindeer and sleigh prints in the snow on the rooftops? I love the elegance of the border! Offered as a chart, finishing 18 x 12 on 32ct.
Winter at Beacon House
Praiseworthy Stitches has a new 'Down the Lane' design -- this one is a seashore scene in the Winter -- NOT the Summer! For a change, we
have evergreens, and snow covered hills, a snowman in the yard, but still the blue waves and an incoming ship. We never see winter seaside scenes, so this one is different and really fun. A celebration to the first snow of the season.
Stitch it on a nice mangy gray linen to give it that dark winter sky. They've shaded the house a lot -- looks neat -- and there are lots of Eyelets and Smyrnas all over the place in here for texture. Offered as a chart, this finishes approx 8-1/2 x 19 on 32ct.
Ravenmoon Hall, Buzzard's Roost Inn & Black Cat Manor
Praiseworthy Stitches presents quite a spectacular trio of haunted houses, actually beautifully *painted and maintained*... the neighbors living within might not fit with your neighborhood! Such knarley trees and so much activity in the yards, these finish just a 'slight' 24 and 26 x19 on 28ct ! Black Cat Manor is a bit smaller at 14 x 19! You'll need a little wall space for any one of these! Stitched in a variety of hand-dyeds, each is offered in chart format... beautifully printed and LARGE!
Part of their *busy-ness* and charm are the JABCO clay buttons scattered everywhere -- they always deliver something else to draw the eye! CAN'T STITCH THESE??? Get 'em in stationery! 2 Cards each of our three houses, plus Midnight Fright... little notecards to reduce the stress of not enjoying things that are in your stash!!!
Cute jacks all lined up -- hats and cats and bats!!!
Finishing approx 12 x 12 on 28ct, hand-dyed flosses, cute JABCO buttons... this has it all!
This is a fun design... there is really not much on the stitching end of things... just lots of charm with Santa's face and all the little peppermints! It finishes a generous 5 x 8-1/2 on 28ct.
We love all the subtle stitching with the smattering of all sorts of peppermint canes and candies! Offered as the chart.
What a fun beach scene -- this looks like the pirates have come to the island and discovered the relaxed local culture. Picnics, games, umbrellas, and blowing whales.. everything fun comes in this chart.
Finishing approx 6 x 14 on 32ct, this design is antique in feel -- except for those funky beach umbrellas!!! Finishes approx 7 x 16 on 28ct. Could go smaller.....................
Strawberry Pyn Pillow
A sweet piece to stitch, Praiseworthy Stitches brings you a 70 x 70
stitch count design, worked on 32ct Ivory, featuring a Queen Stitch Strawberry surrounded by a border of green. The little berry is solid Queen Stitches, but instead of being packed together with shared holes joining each stitch, there is a thread between each Queen, so you can actually SEE all your hard work and multiple stitches!!
Pretty colors of Sampler threads used -- Cherry Wine, Dried Thyme, Victorian Pink, Cameo Pink and Avocado! Offered as the chart.
Emilia's Sewing Case 'Lay all the steps of pride aside, Let truth and wisdom be your guide.' This is an awesome sewing case that is bursting with dynamic Bargello/Florentine Stitching! Stitched in soft overdyeds of greens and rose-pinks (the colors are soft and pretty!) on Week's 35ct hand-dyed Linen, the outside Bargello is stunning.... and features small areas with flowers. The verse panel is the back.
Next, on the inside of the case, you have wool pockets (Rose Quartz from Weeks) and a linen pocket that can hold such treasures as scissors, thread rings and winders, and needle minders! The whole thing measures approx 10 x 18... and features that wonderful Bargello on the front and lots of Rhodes, Blanket, Eyelets, Smryna, Lazy Daisy and Rice stitches on the inside.
Lots of glass and crystal beads and the clam-shell finding... there was no question... we had to have beads to match every case!!! The booklet has 23 pages of charts and diagrams, along with finishing instructions. Print our pics here... for some extra guidelines! Just a really pretty piece, in lovely, soft pinks and greens!
Sweet Baby Sampler 'Our dear sweet child, welcome to our hearts.' This is a lovely, classic birth sampler charted for Crescent Colours Belle Soie Silk. Luscious, soft shades of lavender, rose and soft greens, this finishes approx 6-1/2 x 10 on 32ct. (Sweet Lavender, Elegant Eggplant, Carnation, Cabbage Patch, Fern Frond, Creme de Menthe, Mudpie (doesn't match the rest of the colors -- does it!?) and Babbling Brook.
Special stitches are included... Rhodes, Herringbone, Rice, Smryna and Diamond Variation... nothing is too difficult, and it all adds texture and bit of class! Just sweet and simple! Offered as a chart.
This piece celebrates friendship! The classic verse, 'The road to a friend's house is never long' is featured, along with the ladies, themselves, in the front yard! Stitched on 32ct, this measures approx 18 x 25-1/2, and is stitched using Weeks and Sampler Threads overdyeds.
I love the shading in the house, and all the identical leaves on those trees... and the little fish in the pond, and the wrought iron fence and the benches... there are a lot of neat details in this. The chart talks about spending time with your friends -- the hours go faster, and hearts are made lighter! You could even change out the alphabet letters in the border, and stitch specific initials instead!
Harvest House 'Frost on the pumpkins and birds in the air... come rejoice... Harvest Time is here.' A bustling scene, complete with scarecrow that should be FIRED! The wagon is full of pumpkins, ready for pie!
This finishes approx 6 x 14 on 28ct, (lots of fabric choices will work...) and is stitched in DMC or Crescent Colours overdyeds. Part of the border is cross stitched over 4 threads instead of 2, but everything else is regular cross. Cute, this is offered as a chart.
