Early Americans #5 Freedom from Little House Needleworks -- click to see lots more
Autumn ABCs
Wow, this is cute! The alphabet done vertically, you probably have a skinny wall next to a door or between closets or something that could a little dressing up! Diane's Fall Alphabet is a companion to her Stitcher's ABC's... it measures approx 2-1/2 x 19 inches in size.

The chart calls for Classic Coloroworks flosses - you'll have to add some basic DMC for smaller areas that kind of 'don't count! Anyway - quilts, leaves, pumpkins and sunflowers - the letters help to spell the 'flavors of the season!'

The Early Americans
This is the beginning of a new set of 9 charts... featuring *eight well-known historical figures.* You will see Betsy Ross, John Hancock, Martha Washington, Nathan Hale, Paul Revere, Abigail Adams, Patrick Henry, Molly Pitcher and a Patriotic Block that is the 'center piece' that can be stitched if stitching them all together.

Each of the individual designs finishes approx 4-1/2 inches square on Weeks' 30ct Tin Roof Linen. So... Tin Roof comes in 30, 32, 35, 36 and 40ct. REMEMBER since the fabric comes in so many different counts, we can adjust that main cut size for you! Just let us know! And think about a fun distressed wooden bowl full of individual little pin cushions all nestled in there!

What a fun set we're going to have! Charts are $6 each. We'll start an auto-ship for the charts... if you plan on stitching them all together, you can order a 21 x 21 cut when you order the first chart, or when you join the auto-ship.

Sampler Stitchers
Lots of balance and repetition on this one... at least we've mixed up the dress and hair colors a little!

Finishes approx 7 x 8 on 32ct natural, it uses 7 shades of Classic Colorworks flosses -- Eggshell, Barn Door, Black Coffee, Cocoa Bean, Muddy Puddle, Perfect Piecrust and Weeping Willow.

House Rule from Little House Needleworks -- click to see lots more House Rule
This is a cute Little House Needleworks chart that came in while we were gone on our French Cruise with Jeannette Douglas! I never had a chance to write my web words for it! I think it needs to hang in your stitching room or area... but it'd be super-fun made into a windowsill pillow, a lumbar support pillow, or even a long little wedgie stand-up!

Basically, you appreciate this advice until you're ripping out, and then it's just useless blather! (It's not like you DIDN'T count... it just didn't come out right, and you don't need the reminder!) Well, cute houses, cute sentiment... this finishes approx 2 x 12 on 32ct -- coded for DMC or hand-dyeds.

Small chart, over-dyed or DMC flosses.

Needlework ABC's
This is really cute! Little House Needleworks did a special design that debuted at our Spring wholesale trade show last weekend. Special because it includes the floss.. it is a needle worker's alphabet... that finishes into a 2-3/8 x 19-3/8 size stitched on Week's 32ct Confederate Gray Linen!!!

Long and skinny, it's perfect to hang in that narrow spot on your walls between two doors! Letters down one side, and motifs down the other, pins, scissors, hoops and spools.

It includes Classic Colorworks complete skeins of Antique Lace, Calico Kitty, Cocoa Bean, Pebble Beach and Weeping Willow hand-dyed cotton flosses. (You'll need bits of DMC 422 and 951 to stitch.) Includes chart and Classic flosses. Fabric available separately.

Little House Needleworks has released two new charts -- one for Winter and the other for Easter.

  • No Place Like Home -- Another cute ornament-sized design that finishes approx 5 x 5 on 32ct. Might be cute to change out the girl for a snowman or little puppy... it calls for Classic colorworks hand-dyed flosses. Presented as a small chart.

You might even be able to cling them to your stitching lamp and hold a pair of scissors! They're magnets -- you can figure out a million uses for them!

Just the best, because they bring your favorite bits of needlework anywhere you want them to be. Each measures approx 1-inch in diameter and features a pair of strong rare-earth magnets.

Another 4-inch square piece -- stitch count is 61 x 61 -- so depending on fabric count, you COULD get this sort of small! I think my favorite thing is that little 4 x 6 stitches bunny!!!

Small chart, over-dyed or DMC flosses.

Gingerbread Street from Little House Needleworks -- click to see lots more Gingerbread Street
Gingerbread Street is a 4-1/2 inch square design when worked on 32ct. Cute little row of houses... might be kind of fun to add real lace instead of stitches to the top and bottom borders!

Two predominant colors are Classic Colorworks Brandied Pears and Weeping Willow.

A coverlet-inspired design stitched with only three shades of red, white and green hand-dyed floss, finish it with our without the button and wool garnish off to the side as shown in the picture.

The Hometown Holiday Series
Hometown Holiday from Little House Needleworks - click to see more Little House Needleworks is beginning a set of designs -- The Hometown Holiday Series. It will be a set (undisclosed number of designs in the set at this point) of small charts of houses and businesses in *A Village.* Diane does NOT have specific release dates for each subsequent pattern... and is not planning a monthly release for this set. (She's releasing as she finishes them... and is happy with her results.)

The idea is to stitch them (on any fabric YOU LIKE BEST!) and finish them as small stand-ups. As your collection in *The Village* grows... you can arrange your stand-ups in any order you wish! They will not all be the same dimensions... but will follow a cohesive color palette.

The first pattern is supposed to depict YOUR house. The second 'Main Street Station' is a cute train depot (due in our shop approx mid-April???) Third will be Caroling Quartet and 4th is planned to be a Sweet Shop. (Remember NO scheduled release dates at this time.) No plans to put it all on one piece of fabric either... so this is just a *heads-up* to pay attention and watch for Hometown Holiday Designs!!! My House measures 49 x 59 stitches and features DMC or Crescent flosses. Offered as the small chart -- no button embellishment.

Catch-Up & Continue will enable you to get ALL the previous designs in this series with your first shipment and then continue monthly with the rest of the series.

Little House Needleworks has a cute new design -- just 4 x 4 in size on 30ct linen. I think I like the finishing on this the most. Look at the simple dark-colored border on this... it coordinates with and sets off the same coordinating Weeks Dungarees colored Wool panel on the side of the small pillow.

Add a few buttons for color, the twine edge trim and those fun little red x's decorating over the seam... it's a charming and super easy presentation! (Remember this finishing theme for so many of Diane's smaller designs!) Little Lady Liberty is presented as a chart.

The 2015 Sampler Tree Ornament Series
Little House Needleworks is beginning a new set of Sampler-Inspired ornaments in 2015 -- the first one -- Old Colonial is here now. Worked on 32 count linen, it finishes approx 3-1/2 inches square. Diane offers another way to work with your over-dyed threads, and has stitched this model with that technique.

Pull your two strands of over-dyed floss, but reverse the direction of one of the strands. (Technically, you are now working with one thread against its grain... but life goes on, and it's OK!!) Then, stitch across your entire row, and return. That way, you are getting the mottled effects of the hand-dyed variations but not stitching whole X's at one time. Make sense? Old Colonial is presented in small chart format, and we will be offering an auto-ship for the charts. Fabrics are due to vary almost monthly.

Hand-dyed of white, green and brown, this finishes approx 5 x 5.

Three Snowy Hills from Little House Needleworks -- click to see lots more Three Snowy Hills and Born in a Manger
Three Snowy Hills -- This should appeal to the organization in you... perfect little houses atop perfect little hills... but maybe you could add a snowman to one of the yards, a little dog in another and a bitty sled on one of the hills??? Instead of the alphabet, it might be fun to list all the neat things you do at home during a snowstorm -- like bake and do puzzles! Finishing approx 13 x 4-1/2, it is coded for Eggshell, Black Coffee, English Ivy, Licorice Red, roasted Chestnut and Chai hand-dyed flosses -- or DMC.

Born in a Manger from Little House Needleworks -- click to see lots more Born in a Manger -- Diane is promising a new set of designs that features sheep -- this is the first in that new set. Small chart, this finishes approx 3 x 5 on 32ct.

Fall Squared from Little House Needleworks - click to see more Fall Squared
I bet this little thing is going to be the first in a series of similar designs! Super-cute petite 4-patch, each of the motifs measures only 27 x 27 stitches, so if you do them over one they'll be like AN INCH!!!!!

Using hand-dyed colors of Pumpkin Harvest, Joshua Tree, Hazelnut, Cocoa Bean, Roasted Chestnut and Tawny, each one of the four sections is cute by itself, but you could line them up vertically or horizontally as well!

Thread Keeper from Little House Needleworks - click to see more Thread Keeper
Here's a cute design that needs to grace the front of a thread pocket. Offered as the small chart, colors used are Classic's Bean Sprout, Blue Corn, Fool's Gold and Manor Red.

Finishing approx 5 inches square on 28ct, Diane has made her pocket out of Week's Dye Works hand-dyed wool to match the flosses she used. We sell the wool in 8-1/2-ish inch Schnigglet cuts, so you will need two that match to make your case. Let us know if you want red, blue, green or gold wool!

Lantern Lane from Little House Needleworks -- click to see more Lantern Lane
A pretty Holiday House so festive and organized! (I bet the tree is set up inside there perfectly... and not a creature is stirring!) I think my house looks this good on the outside... but inside, there are tree decorations everywhere... mixed in with the scattered doggy toys and my stitching stuff!

Use this as a pretty welcome in your entry way... add your family name instead of the alphabet... kind of a 'family established' thing... and change the date. Finishing approx13 x 8 on 30ct Natural, this is coded for classic Colorworks Belle Soie Silk or cottons -- very elegant!

Finishing approx 4-1/2 x 8 on 30ct linen... this is coded for DMC or Classic Colorworks floss. You don't need the frame... you could add another special embellishment if you'd like... I actually really like JUST that tapestry background behind a picture for an old-victorian-antique flavor! Offered as the chart, miniature frames are separate.

Announcing The Calendar Girls
Twelve Months -- Twelve Girls. Diane is presenting a new 12-part set of designs that will begin in December and continue through November of 2014. We kind-of-know-nothing about design content except that each chart will have a stitch count of 46 x 67. I am assuming each will be a girl -- dressed for her month (?) -- with the month name running vertically down the left edge(?).

Arrange your 12 projects in any shape (a long row, 3 x 4 panels, etc..) -- that may affect your fabric cut size. Recommended is 28ct Clay, but since that is a great Neutral color... your options are VERY open! No buttons are called for... just simple charts. Our Auto-Ship will include the charts only -- fabric is your call -- let us know what you want! We are including one option for a 9 x 9 cut for individual designs below.

Moonlight from Little House Needleworks -- click to see more Moonlight

Little House Needleworks has a pretty new monochromatic design which is presented on linen. Finishing approx 8 x 4 on 32ct... this offers LOTS of choices for you!

Choose any fabric you like, and any thread color -- the hand-dyed always seem to present best for these types of designs, because you get just a hint of color depth in there. Stitch it plain, or add opalescents, beads, even maybe some penny-rug wools to the border??? Millions of possibilities! Offered as a chart.

Offered as a chart, this finishes approx 13 x 8 on 28ct linen, but you could make it larger on 10ct Tula -- 10 x 19 -- if that RV or camper has enough space for a neat pillow like that. Really cute!

We are beginning an auto-ship this year on these... chart only or chart and linen. I'll let you know if trim will become an option! Around the World in 80 Days from Little House Needleworks - click to see more Around the World in 80 Days
This design commemorates Jules Verne's famous book, published in 1873. Phileas Fogg and an employee attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days... on a bet! Actually, the balloon was barely mentioned in the book... Verne considered it very risky, if not impossible at that time. But was prominently featured in the 1956 movie and even the movie's promotional poster.

Stitched with Gentle Art, Weeks and Crescent Colours, this is neat whether you like Jules Verne or not! Offered as a chart, it finishes approx 7 x 7 on 32ct.

What a pretty piece -- the sweetheart waiting for her sailor to come home across the foaming sea. It has all the design elements everyone loves -- the seaside cottage, the billowing sails on the ship, whales and waves -- and all the dusty, nautical colors that remind one of the seashore.

Louisa B Snow Sampler from Little House Needleworks - click to see more Louisa B Snow Sampler
This is a reproduction of an antique sampler Diane has purchased. What you are seeing is the ACTUAL sampler stitched on the original Penelope Needlepoint canvas. You are seeing the original stains and the blue lines that are always woven into the canvas. Stitched in either Crescent Colours Belle Soie Silk of hand-dyed cottons... you will need to stain your piece to look like the original.

Unless you stitch the blue lines on your linen, or use the Penelope Canvas -- your piece will not have those blue lines running through it. Other than those words of warning... the verse is fun because it talks about wasting time!!! The rose border at the bottom is lush and pretty, too! Offered as the chart, this finishes almost 18 x 16 on 28ct.

Jessie Bell - Arizona Territory from Little House Needleworks - click to see more Jessie Bell - Arizona Territory
'Jessie Bell was a very real girl who lived in Tucson in the Arizona Territory. She was the daughter of a railroad engineer at the time the sampler is dated, living on a prominent street in what is now the heart of downtown Tucson. Her home no longer exists, but her name lives on in this sampler.' Diane goes on to mention that she has included errors and a misspelling in her design to create an authentic flavor to the piece!

Offered as a chart, stitched with Crescent Colours hand-dyeds or DMC flosses, this finishes approx 5-1/2 x 9 on the most yummy Week's 30ct Straw linen.
