Song of the Seasons A new Mystery Sampler is in the works and COMING!!!!! Diane Williams of Little House Needleworks joins the designers that have contributed to this fun sampler program through-out the last few years -- and this one promises to be SUPER-CUTE! We never get a pic of the finished piece till it's finished hence, the MYSTERY! But we know this: Stitch count is 151 x 178. Recommended fabric is Week's Dye Works Straw. We carry it in 30, 35 and 40ct -- so you have a choice with your fabric count. It uses 12 skeins of Week's Dye Works hand-dyed flosses -- multiple skeins of a few of the colors. Your first installment -- which includes the first chart with the thread key for all three parts -- ship to us on June 11th. We will ship the fabric and flosses at that time. Part two releases July 9th, and part three on August 6th. (Please give the post office and UPS time to deliver to us, and then to re-deliver to you!) NOOOOO other news yet... just let us know your fabric preference, and whether or not you want the floss... and we'll get you on that auto-list ASAP! Charts will run $8.00 each. The Hometown Holiday Series Little House Needleworks is beginning a set of designs -- The Hometown Holiday Series. It will be a set (undisclosed number of designs in the set at this point) of small charts of houses and businesses in A Village. Diane does NOT have specific release dates for each subsequent pattern... and is not planning a monthly release for this set. (She's releasing as she finishes them... and is happy with her results.) The idea is to stitch them (on any fabric YOU LIKE BEST!) and finish them as small stand-ups. As your collection in The Village grows... you can arrange your stand-ups in any order you wish! They will not all be the same dimensions... but will follow a cohesive color palette. The first pattern is supposed to depict YOUR house. The second 'Main Street Station' is a cute train depot (due in our shop approx mid-April???) Third will be Caroling Quartet and 4th is planned to be a Sweet Shop. (remember NO scheduled release dates at this time.) No plans to put it all on one piece of fabric either... so this is just a heads-up to pay attention and watch for Hometown Holiday Designs!!! My House measures 49 x 59 stitches and features DMC or Crescent flosses. Offered as the small chart -- no button embellishment.
Little Sheep Virtues Just a sneak peek into Little House Needlework's 2013 monthly series of small designs -- beginning to ship mid-January. Diane is doing 12 - 61 x 61 stitch count designs -- each containing a sheep, a virtue, a button and at least one heart. Finished onto Week's Dye Works wools (perfect for those little sheep!), fabrics used each month will be 30ct hand-dyed. Virtues addressed are: Hope, Love, Peace, Courage, Faith, Simplicity, Patience, Wisdom, Friendship, Kindness, Gratitude and Joyfulness. Our monthly automatic ship will include the chart and button. You have the option to get fabric each month -- or not! And... of course... you also have the option of picking up the charts individually as you like them, and skipping the auto! We anticipate charts with the button to run $8ish, and fabric cuts approx $6.50 each. Auto begins with January 2013 chart, and ends with December 2013. For Example, if you join this auto in May, you have the option to go forward May to December... or CATCH UP, which means you will receive all the charts previously released up to the current release, and will continue till the end.
Miss Peepers Oh, this is CUTE! That darling bird has on her glasses -- and see? -- she's reading a book! Needleworker You may want this as a room sign at the entrance to your Stitching Haven! Finishing approx 4 x 15 on 30ct R & R hand-dyed linen, this is stitched in Crescent Colour's hand-dyed flosses. The colors are just GORGEOUS together -- Khaki Mocha, Polliwog, Roasted Chestnut, Caterpillar, Pebble Beach and Red Currant... all soft, deep, dusty colors. Orchard Valley Quilting Bee Little House Needleworks has a new sampler, quite a bit larger than most of her other things. Measuring 241 x 241 stitches (17 x 17 on 28ct!) it depicts the ladies, houses and farms of the Bee! Their quilt in the center, Diane advises that you can change names in here, and stitch any of the squares individually if you want. Coded for regular DMC floss, just a simple, very pretty piece! Vanilla and Chocolate Like Ebony and Ivory living together in perfect harmony... V & C make a classic couple! Little House has a cute piece that is stitched -- appropriately -- on 30ct Week's Cocoa Linen! Mary Ann Myers Little House has a new reproduced sampler... Mary Ann Myers, dated 1827. Offered as a chart, Diane has converted the original threads to Belle Soie by Crescent Colours -- and has chosen a color palette of Evergreen, Teddy Bear, Vanilla Pudding, Weathered Vine (2 needed), and Pecan Pie. Stitched over two threads (most parts) on hand-dyed 28ct Natural Straw Gingham Linen, the fabric just makes this piece! Such a fun, homespun look, the Straw color is very gentle and offers a really pretty background to this piece. We don't know much about Mary Ann Myers... but Diane was enchanted by the design at the bottom of this sampler... and chose it to re-chart for us!
Bear Tree Forest Little House Needleworks has a new piece that needs to hang in your cabin-in-the-woods (if you are lucky enough to have one), and there's even room to personalize it with your family name! Squirrels and acorns, pines and a snowman in the yard, there are also The Three Bears visiting!!!!! Stitched on 30ct Weeks Tin Roof Linen -- a neat mangy, wintery gray -- with both DMC and hand-dyeds from your collection, this finishes approx 5 x 13. There is no alternative alphabet for your family or cabin's name... but I bet you can figure out something, if need be. A restful, quiet winter scene, offered as a chart.
2012 Monthly Ornament Series Little House Needleworks begins her 2012 set of 12 monthly ornament-sized designs with Blessed -- I think she could double as a bride! Offered in small chart format, each month will call for a different color of 30ct Week's Dye Works hand-dyed linen, along with a smattering of hand-dyed flosses from your stash. This first design accents Crescent Colour's new hand-dyed chenille cotton trim around the finished edge. I don't know if the rest of the finished pieces will feature special trims -- we just need to be patient to find out! We are beginning an auto-ship this year on these... chart only or chart and linen. I'll let you know if trim will become an option! My Sheep Little House has a new design... a comforting piece... full of little houses and sheep... all organized and tranquil. Stitched on 32ct Lambswool (how appropriate!) linen, it finishes approx 3-1/2 x 14-1/2. Offered as a chart, it is coded for DMC and hand-dyeds.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame Little House Needleworks has a charming scene-of-old, taking us back to the days of ball games at a summer fair. Dirt blowing all around the field and bleachers... the yummy fresh-popping popcorn smells... the cheers of the crowd... the decorations... everything about this piece is endearing... right down to the uneven bricks in the dugout walls! Around the World in 80 Days This design commemorates Jules Verne's famous book, published in 1873. Phileas Fogg and an employee attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days... on a bet! Actually, the balloon was barely mentioned in the book... Verne considered it very risky, if not impossible at that time. But was prominently featured in the 1956 movie and even the movie's promotional poster. Stitched with Gentle Art, Weeks and Crescent Colours, this is neat whether you like Jules Verne or not! Old Nantucket What a pretty piece -- the sweetheart waiting for her sailor to come home across the foaming sea. Louisa B Snow Sampler This is a reproduction of an antique sampler Diane has purchased. What you are seeing is the ACTUAL sampler stitched on the original Penelope Needlepoint canvas. You are seeing the original stains and the blue lines that are always woven into the canvas. Stitched in either Crescent Colours Belle Soie Silk of hand-dyed cottons... you will need to stain your piece to look like the original. Unless you stitch the blue lines on your linen, or use the Penelope Canvas -- your piece will not have those blue lines running through it. Other than those words of warning... the verse is fun because it talks about wasting time!!! The rose border at the bottom is lush and pretty, too! A Market Special Limited Edition Collaboration between Little House Needleworks and Shakespeare's Peddler, Diane offers the most charming elongated heart pin cushion, while Teresa made a long tube-shape sit-about. The charts come together along with another bonus Little House chart, a package of Crescent's hand-dyed 1/2 inch Bean Sprout Rik Rak... and 5 complete skeins of Crescent's Weeping Willow, Timber, Hazelnut, Stepping Stones and Clay Pot flosses. Both stitched on 32ct... (you will have enough thread to stitch both projects) the heart finishes 6 x 9-ish (smaller because it's stuffed rather than flat and framed) and features darling stitching themed motifs. Check out the edging... it is the hand-dyed Rik Rak that you gather and tack around the edges. REAL CUTE. Next... pay attention to the roll. Jessie Bell - Arizona Territory 'Jessie Bell was a very real girl who lived in Tucson in the Arizona Territory. She was the daughter of a railroad engineer at the time the sampler is dated, living on a prominent street in what is now the heart of downtown Tucson. Her home no longer exists, but her name lives on in this sampler.' Diane goes on to mention that she has included errors and a misspelling in her design to create an authentic flavor to the piece! Elizabeth Hancock Sampler Diane Williams has adapted an antique sampler originally stitched in 1831 by Elizabeth Hancock. 'I sigh not for beauty nor languish for wealth...' begins the verse on this piece. Little House has reproduced only the top half of the original sampler... but kept all the mistakes and design oddities from the original in her new design. It's a lovely piece, offered as a chart, it measures 15-3/4 x 18, worked on 30ct Weeks Straw Linen. Charted for Crescent Colors Belle Soie silk, hand-dyed flosses or regular DMC, Diane promises to present the bottom half of the original sampler -- the Adam and Eve portion -- in an upcoming chart!

This is My Joy! Little House has a charming Christmas design that has several stitching options to choose from (but hopefully not confuse!) 2011 Ornaments Here is Little House's complete set of ornament designs for 2011! Cardinal Winter is presented as a small chart, and calls for Crescent Colours hand-dyed flosses, and DMC Jan, Feb and March's designs are all promised to be worked on weeks 30ct Cocoa Linen... and they are switching fabric colors every three months. The Tin Roof linen they are using on the next three ornaments is just awesome! Absolutely charming, you can almost hear the singing birds, against the quiet of the freshly fallen snow, and the silent little rabbits! 57 x 57 Stitch count, these will all finish approx 4 x 4. Warm Winter Woolens This is fun! What a well-dressed little guy! On 32ct, the entire piece finishes approx 4-1/2 x 6-1/2. If you want to just make the sheepie, he measures just 56 x 44, and he'd be PRECIOUS stuffed into a cushion or sheep-shape and tucked into a basket. You could even stitch him in Gentle Art's Simply Wool... over-the-top yummy! Very cute design -- offered as a small chart.
12 Days of Christmas The classic song and poem with Little House's updated images. Of course not EVERYONE or THING in the verse is tucked on here... but Diane has done of pretty good job with it! I've hunted for all, and am stumped about the Piper -- but I'm sure he's in her somewhere and I missed him. A fun puzzle of the Season! My Dwelling Place An Early American flavor to me. The big willow, the stars over the house and the flag... very Home Sweet Home America to me! You can almost hear the blackbird singing!!! Stitch count of 138 x 112.
Little Miss Sunflower Little Miss Sunflower is charming in her sunflower garden -- I LOVE those shaded flowers! Notice that this is on 28ct hand-dyed Straw Gingham Linen? Such a great color for this, the gingham pattern makes it another Home Sweet Home kind of thing for me! This one finishes 6 x 7-1/2... you'll definitely want that specialty fabric. Melicent Turner Sampler Diane has purchased her first antique sampler... and adapted the original piece with new colors! Originally worked in 1809, little Melicent probably wanted to go outside and play, but instead needed to stitch her lesson! The Inn at Fox River Mill What a charming piece! Little House's newest design, I love that house on the left -- look at the overdyeds in the stone and the trees. The roof looks like the shingles are really tiny bits of wood! The little fox looks guilty of catching something delicious for lunch, and the mill is really neat over on the right -- especially with it's churning water wheel. Great colors, pretty acorn border along the top, I'd like to live there! Offered as the chart.
Thirteen Colonies WOW this is a pretty piece! Finishing approx 11 x 16 on 32ct, this offers lots of design choices for you! Stitch the main sampler -- complete with the traditional border on three sides, and the names of the 13 original colonies. 2010 Ornaments of the Month! Little House is delivering a charming set of 12 ornaments this year... here are the first few of the collection which will finish in December of 2010. Each is offered in chart format, and features approx the same stitch count. Various colors of 30ct linens, a few have beads embellishments, but not all. Family Sampler Diane has designed a Family Sampler with all sorts of extra people, pets and an alphabet, so you can fit any and everybody you want into YOUR Family Sampler! Offered in chart format, the entire sampler is laid out for you... with suggestions for 'people/pet' placements. There are some different colored dogs... three different sizes of children... lots to change, personalize and plan! It uses only regular Cross Stitches -- but there are lots of places you could add some special stitches if you are so inclined. Liberty Belles & Singing The Blues Two new smaller designs, Liberty Belles (4-1/2 x 6) is stitched on Weeks 30ct Parchment linen in Crescent hand dyed flosses, while Singing the Blues (6 x 6) is worked on 28ct Summer Khaki Cashel and offers a converson to Belle Soie Silk, as well as the Crescent flosses. Simple Joys and The Mercantile Little House Needleworks has two new designs. I love the flowing vine beneath the bird in Simple Joys, this piece has lovely symetry. It begs to be stitched on some mangy hand-dyed linen! The Mercantile goes so perfectly with her Yesteryear and Old West designs, and the Country Cottage Cowboy Dreams piece! The Library Little House Needleworks has a new design (all the parts of this are in this ONE chart!) ... a tribute to reading and all your favorite books! The Library showcases 4 types of literature -- Romance, Mystery, Western and Classic... each a 'window' into the library. Charming scenes, each is perched atop its book's type! 'An Open Book is a Window into the World.' The Romance section has a courting couple...
