Porch Garden Mice Limited Edition Humbug and Pin Set
Well, how pretty! Nan is releasing a new Humbug shaped cushion design -- a four-sided little thing -- that features blue and white garden urns each with a bouquet of flowers. Each of the four sides of the 2 x 2-ish cushion are different... and you'll notice there is a row of mice stitched over one running all along the bottom border!
A VERY limited Garden Mouse Pin (only 400 hand-made by Nan!) dresses the cushion Humbug -- it's a tiny mouse charm bead that is perched atop a green glass leaf! Very cute and colorful. We've opted to offer the Humbug WITH the Pin --(Nan's advice.)

Summer Typography
The final in Nan's 4-Seasons, this features 'A summer garden bathed in happy sunshine. Behind a white picket fence you'll find daisies, roses, lavender and hollyhocks, a birdhouse for 2 tiny bluebirds, butterflies and bees.' Packaged with embellishments which include a crystal rose, white pearl beads and a sparkly Swarovski butterfly.
Stitched on 32ct Ash Rose Belfast, it finishes approx 5-1/2 inches square. Pretty fonts in all of these, lots of smaller take-out design components in them, this has been a nice set of designs.

Barnabee in Bloom
Joining Gingerbread Mouse (sold out) and Honey Bunny (also sold out) comes Barnabee. He's a little bee flying around the garden looking for Scarlet and Bella! Stitched on 32ct cream Belfast linen in DMC flosses, he is actually a small pin keep, but you could hide a threader or some buttons and needles inside him as well. Just a small thing, his stitching measures 2 x 3, and since he folds over to create the case, his finished size is 1-1/2 x 1-3/4. Garnished with blue and yellow (peanut!) beads, black metal eye beads, glitter tulle for his wings, a bit of wire for his antennae, and bumblebee ribbon for his hanger, he's a colorful little guy.
Offered as the chart with embellishments as a LIMITED EDITION... he will not be around for long. Nan is promising 4 more ornaments in this set -- coming between August and December. We have an auto-ship if you'd like -- it begins with Barnabee, but you can add Honey Bunny till ours are sold out!

Spring Typography
Spring arrives in 16 different fonts, and lots of fresh flowers, a bunny and even a newly awakened Lady Scarlet ladybug! Finishing 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 on 32ct Little Boy Blue Belfast linen, this is coded for DMC and also uses Gentle Art's Spring Grass and Grape Leaf overdyeds.

The Lettered Border Series
Nan has created a 4-part set of seasonal samplers -- each with a charming 'cottage/abode/home' in the center -- surrounded by a larger-than-life floral border, reminiscent of antique samplers. (Don't think you can see the over-one alphabet letters in the border -- choose those initials special to YOUR family.) The first -- Spring in the Tulips -- features a soft buttermilk yellow house complete with springtime bunnies in the yard and the effervescent springtime blooms in the garden's urn.
Very bold and eye-catching, this dynamic design is a mere 9 x 9 on 32ct Platinum Linen. Stitched with 16 different DMC cotton shades and 2 Gentle Art Sampler Threads... the border draws your interest into the center to discover the lovely, classic house. (A favorite feature of antique samplers -- the gorgeous flowing border, and a neat tiny pastoral scene somewhere in the piece.) Offered as the chart with a few bead embellishments, we will be treated to *Summer By The Sea* in late April, *Autumn in the Country* in August, and *Winter in the Forest* in October of 2013.

Presenting: Snowball
Oh My... this is a tribute to everyone on the East Coast this season.... here in 45 degree Oklahoma, we're seeing TV coverage of Connecticut buried under 4 feet of snow! So... Nan has shipped a snowball to stitch, that is as beautiful as each of those tiny little flakes!
Stitched in 36 small 1 x 3-ish football-shaped motifs, 12 larger beaded flakes on White/Opalescent Cashel linen, and 24 smaller flakes on Blizzard Blue/Opalescent Cashel, each section is hand-joined together, and the intersections are trimmed with a frosty metal snowflake embellishment. Beads glisten everywhere -- just like freshly fallen snow! Your snowball finishes approx 4-1/2 inches round, and you might recognize it as the companion to Nan's Twilight Pearls Leaf Ball from last summer.
Offered as a chart with 3 yards of overdyed silk in white and light blue, pearls and glass beads, and six of Nan's lacy frosted snowflakes. 8 Point Star Garden
WOW... Have you ever seen a stitched pin cushion in this shape??? I LOVE it! It reminds me of a starfish or an urchin or an octopus... but Nan has made hers to offer a garden of delightful blossoms and blooms on each of the sides and bottom!!! OK... Nan says: Stitch 8 squares on 2 colors of linen, fold into triangles, join along the edges, stuff, and connect into a circle! I have never seen this endearing little shape... HOW COOL in your curio of stitched pin cushions -- what a beautiful little creation inspired by cushions in the 1800's! Offered as a leaflet, you'll get all the charts for the diagonal garlands of roses, tulips, daffodils, pansies and daisies, and a little scene along the bottom edge. *As you travel in and out

Flower Bunnies Needle Slide
Another fun little needle-tin keeper, Nan has decorated this one with Springtime floral bunnies and lined it with a snippet of colorful ribbon. Very compact and secure as a storage box, tuck in a threader and a few needles.
You know... it'd make a pretty pill case, too!!!!!!! (When you're on your next trip with the girls and everything is too busy and fun to remember to take your pills... stash them with your stitching... you won't forget them!!) How's that for functionality!?

Baby Celebration
There is a new granddaughter in Nan's life! Baby Hope arrived this past Fall, just as sweet as she can be! So... Nan's best-selling Baby Garden has a sequel!!!! Baby Celebration is a garden full of baby critters, delicate florals and greenery. Stitched on 32ct Raw Belfast linen, there is a baby in the crib, the garden clock recording time of birth, and rows and rows of bunnies, bees, and ladybugs.
Featured is a hand-painted swan charm gliding in the garden pond. Like Baby Garden, just a *lovely* birth memento -- timeless. Finishing approx 4-1/2 x 10, there are six special stitches featured, and those bees and bugs worked over one. Offered as the leaflet with embellishments.

Peacock Alphabet
Remember Bluebird Alphabet??? Companioning that medley of letters, everything is mooshed and smooshed together in this... all to highlight the majestic hand-painted peacock charm in the center! All the beads and hand-dyed flosses reflect a deep-sea, brilliant aqua, and frosty-icy blue color scheme... Reminds me of the beach!

Return of Amethyst Snowflake
An EVER-popular out-of-print (circa 1997) and previously LOST design of Nan's has been reborn! They say 'house cleaning' in the design studio was responsible for finding ONE lonely leaflet. (always underneath a file cabinet or something!) Nan re-created it, re-stitched, framed and photographed... and here it is.
Lovely as ever, Amethyst Snowflake glistens with silver #4 braid, four different colors of beads and pops with #8 and #12 white perle cotton stitches in it's 6 x 6 size. It was always pretty... can't wait for the *digitally remasterd edition!* (only made by hand... by Nan!)

Wise Old Owl
*A wise old owl sat on an oak. The more he saw the less he spoke. The less he spoke the more he heard. Why aren't we like that wise old bird?*
Nan's newest bit of advice for life... this little guy is stitched on 32ct Flax Linen in a array of DMC flosses with a touch of moss hand-dyed silk for the wording. Finishing approx 3 x 5, those words are over one thread... Mr Owl is over two. Offered as the chart with a few lengths of the moss silk.

Peppermint Snowflakes Tree
Nan's last in her set of 4 seasonal trees is here... Peppermint Snowflakes is stitched on 32ct Natural/Opalescent Belfast Linen in just 7 shades of DMC floss! The fabric glistens to show off all the little red and white flakes in this 3-1/2 x 5 inch piece. The embellishments include some tiny white pearls. a silver-toned filigree heart charm, a few teeny seed beads, and the COOLEST little red and white striped seed beads! (I think those are the centers of all the flakes!)

Glitter Basket Pin Ball Tin
Just a wisp of a thing... Nan has enamel-painted a floral basket charm and decorated the top of a 1-1/2 inch round
mini-tin.
Decorated with a ribbon band, and a trio of glass heart 'feet', inside the tin, you'll find three little wool balls to hold a few stray needles while you stitch. Packed in a clear plastic gift box... it looks like a tiny Christmas gift!

Just Nan has Arrived!!!
Nan has released pics of two new Christmas pieces... a cute NOEL ornament hiding more sentiments of Snow, Joy, Merry and Holly. My pic is bitty -- only a few inches -- but it finishes into a 3 x 5 piece. The featured frame is the same one we have for Flowering Crown... so if you are *crafty*, decorate that little guy and make it special for NOEL! or... purchase the Gingerbread Decorated option.
Also coming is a delightful Advent Calendar! 24 *Tiny* designs to help count down to Christmas... you are *supposed* to keep them turned down, till each day appears. Well... FORGET THAT! You stitch these babies -- you show them off!!! Santa will come anyway... and we don't want to hide A SINGLE ONE of these cute miniatures in the meantime! If you aren't a calendar-girl, make these into tiny tree ornaments... I love the little ones, as you can tuck them just everywhere on the outside branches -- they don't make them sag. (I'm a real-tree gal -- we gotta think about all those 5 x 5 ornaments -- real trees love light-weight, petite ornaments!)

Spider Moon
Oh My Gosh... Nan always out-does herself with her Halloween pieces... and Spider Moon is no exception! *Beneath the spider moon * Ghosts drift out to play * Bones begin to dance * Monsters start to sway * Witches cackle tunes * Owls hoot and prey *... Night will end
soon -- beneath the spider moon!* Now... look at the bands in this 15 x 6 sampler stitched with DMC floss on 32ct Stone Grey Belfast Linen. Check out that Spider Moon! (just like the clouds and veins you see sometimes!) The cats and bats. Then... the drifting ghosts. Next... the dancing bones! They're cute -- but probably upstaged by the swaying monsters!
I love the witches -- they always wear purple -- a great fashion color for the season. The owls are SERIOUS... and the spooky graveyard tree against the moon is spectacular! Seasonal Trees
A tree of Valentines! Nan has designed a small 3-1/2 x 5 Springtime Tree that is full of 15 different stitched hearts. Coded for DMC, it does call for Evergreen Sampler Thread -- see it in the Satin Stitch heart greenery? Your tiny tree is garnished with a smattering of white and pink pearls, a crystal heart bead and a pretty antiqued silver filagree heart token. Just a pretty little thing, I can see stitching just the 'leaf part' and making it into a round pin cushion!

Motif Mystique
Just Nan has three new releases -- that have arrived today! Motif Mystique is a stunning medley of square and row motifs -- some full of specialty stitches -- some not. Based on a band-sampler type of format, you can see the rows of borders and boxes. Nan has given her Mystique a springtime flavor using soft rose, greens, summer lavenders... her lovely pallette of young seasonal color. Scattered everywhere are glass pansy bead and yellow flower bead embellishments. There is a painted rose charm, as well as a silver crown.
Intricate details, soothing color sense, and design interest... there is a lot happening in this piece. Stitch it in total, or separate the elements and create individual masterpieces! Finchley's Summer
from Just Nan
A charming bird and birdhouse scenario, very Springtime and Summery in flavor. Finchley is perched outside his summer rental condo. On his perch, he has enameled a button -- his self-portrait among the his flowers -- it is the *doorbell, if you will* to his summer vacation home!

Hoppington Hill
Oh gosh, this is so cute -- it's Nan's third stitched cube -- companioning Tea With Honey and Spooky Spirits of Tombstone Hill! Hoppington Hill is a six-sided cube that is stitched on all it's sides. There are rows of bunnies with carrots, cabbages and daffodils, and a few baby chicks tossed in as well. Everyone is dancing beneath garlands of Spring Blossoms, this is full of personality!!!!
Stitched on Zweigart's 32ct Ivory Linen, the
embellishments include amethyst glass flower beads and a silver bunny bead that you can (hopefully) recognize in the picture. Such a unique piece, it needs an elegant curio case! Offered as the chart with embellishments, it is enchanting!

Singing Pin Bird
Inspired by an antique S-shaped pin cushion, Nan has designed this little guy, complete with his trademark silk ribbon tail. Stitched on 32ct Raw/Opalescent Belfast Linen in DMC floss, he has a wandering verse over one -- an old Chinese proverb that reads; Keep a green tree in your heart and perhaps a singing bird will come.' Finishing almost 4 inches long and an inch high, it is a curious but charming shape. Embellishments include a red glass heart, some beads, gold bird charm, and that lavender silk ribbon.
Nan's original has tiny gold applique pins stuck into the seams -- another little curiosity! Offered as the chart with embellishments -- we have the fabric and tiny applique pins (offered in a round container like our Victorian Mourning Pins -- lots in there.) available separately. This would be a lovely pin cushion -- to join others in a basket -- it would be pretty as a tree ornament -- and if you love sachets, wouldn't this be neat stuffed with lavender for your dresser drawer?

Could be a crown, but could be a Spring Basket of blooms -- tempting those bunnies-in-waiting! Nan's newest design is worked on 32ct Angel Blush Belfast linen in DMC and Gentle Art Sampler Threads. Finishing 3 x 5, it features gold bead embellishments and a lovely Springtime basket of pink, green and lavender blooms. I think my favorite part is the corner treatment with the tiny rabbits -- wouldn't they make sweet little ornaments?

Just Nan's new designs
Snowball Day is a charming snowball of letters and snowman parts -- all rolled up into a ball! Stitched on 30ct Week's Dye Works Morris Blue Linen with DMC floss, there are opalescent metallic touches on the snowflakes and icicles. Embellishments include a trio of frosted
white flowers along with a smattering of glass beads. All of this charm fits into a tiny 4 x 4 finished design!!! So sweet!
Snowflowers is another of Nan's pretty, lacy snowflake designs. Stitched with #8 white perle cotton -- which adds lots of texture -- there are 7 special stitches in here, as well. Tiny bits of pale pink, blue, lavender and green floss flowers are tucked in between flowers, butterflies and bees in here! No Kidding!!! This must be a last-snow-of-the-season flake... as it hints and teases of the beauty of the upcoming promised Spring!!! Offered as a leaflet

Emma & Eliza's Christmas Hat
Just Nan has sent sneak previews of her Christmas releases... this darling 3-dimensional hat is just one of the trio of new. Part 3 of Emma & Eliza's Story, this hat can be hung as an ornament, or perched on a red and white round box -- you can see it in our pic. Stitched on 28ct Dark Teal Cashel Linen, with a 28ct White Opalescent Tree Skirt below, what a charming little piece!
Turkey Lurking is a humorous depiction of the scared Thanksgiving Turkey hiding out till after the *big day!* A 3 x 3 design on 32ct Flax Belfast. Finally -- Nan presents pair of Wee Whimzi Ornament Boxes -- 1-1/2 inch square antiqued brass treasure boxes garnished with tiny Christmas trinkets. Tuck a coin inside, a special photo... or something small and precious to hang on the tree every year. A neat idea for a keepsake ornament each year -- like a miniature time-capsule!

Halloween Party
Hey, isn't this just the most fun? Nan's newest sampler, Halloween Party finishes a mere 2-3/4 x 5-1/4 and is loaded with tiny motifs. Stitched on Stone Grey Belfast Linen in shades of Orange Marmalade, Tomato, Onyx and Carrot Sampler Threads, and a few DMCs tossed in for fun, embellishments include 4 black metal flowers and glass seed beads.

Check out the owl bead on Ollie! It's a larger bead that slides on your charm bracelet... but Ollie likes it too. Nan's Owl bead makes the perfect embellishment! Just TOO CUTE!

Teeny-weeny 1-1/4 inch (!) stitched pockets -- this chart offers us all 4 pocket designs -- stitched on both sides! Designed to fit Nan's new Wee Whimzi Boxes (info coming next) each of these is stitched on 32ct Stone Grey Belfast linen. Witchy Jack, Skelly Jack, Batty Jack and Ghostly Jack -- each of them has his very own spider companion on his backside.

Wee Whimzi Boxes
Check out these intriguing little boxes with garnished tops of *found curiosities!* Nan has searched the charm-world over for neat, vintage artzy-fartzy, eclectic, one-of-a-kind miniatures to decorate the tops of her 1-1/2 inch square aged and brushed brass boxes!
 Pumpkin Time has a standing painted pumpkin trimmed with a spider. Give a Hoot has Nan's charming owl on top of an awesome wrought iron medallion. Night Wings features a scary little BAT -- the jewels on there remind me of those scary night eyes! Lock Out is my favorite -- it has little keys and a lock -- along with a very icky looking, serious spider!!!

Maple Ravens with Whimzi Frame

Twin Bats features a flame/orange glass bead as trim, along with two scary bats -- one metal, one satin. Woodsy Owl is hand painted in rich autumnal colors and accented with a black metal flower and bright moonshine crystal. Sparkle Spider has had a glamorous makeover with the deepest of purple crystal beads, a dazzling yellow crystal and oplaescent green(!) glitter! HOW can that spider not be scary!

Painted Turtle and His Pocket Abode, with coordinating Turtle Pin!
Just Nan has sent us her newest thread winder that has his very own stitched pocket habitat! The 2 x 2 pocket for your tiny painted turtle is stitched on 28ct Ice Blue Cashel linen in bits of DMC floss.
Once you stitch the pocket, take a strand or two of leftover thread and 'dress' the turtle winder that tucks inside.
Pinks, greens, and purples, the winder features a silver base, so the beads adorning the pocket are a matching silver matte finish. Pocket offered as the chart with beads. Fabric and turtle winder offered separately.
The matching turtle Charm Garden Pin can poke most anywhere... on the pocket somewhere, or in another pin cushion. Quantities on this pin are limited!

 Emma and Eliza's Stitching Society!
The first of a three-part set of designs celebrating the hobbies and antics of these two... design #1 is a Springy-time gardening band sampler... charted... for $19. Sounds like Emma planted, potted and watered, while Eliza picked, clipped and DRIPPED! (Emma got sloppy with the watering can!)

Nan has two new limited-in-edition Charm Garden Pins to dress all sorts of cushions and cases you've already stitched. Hot Tomato features a hand-painted red tomato with green top, silver pins poked into it, along with its teeny strawberry emery! Heart Frames and Whimzi Show-Off Frames
Two of Nan's pretty frame options from earlier designs... these are too nice to forget about!
Red Enameled Heart Frame -- SO pretty, so clear, shiny and a brilliant, true shade of red, this holds a picture that is approx
2-1/2 x 2-1/2. It'll hold a regular photograph or a piece of needlework -- it's just a very classic color and design. They were

The Whimzi-Show-Off Frames are a neat idea. It is a lovely silver-leaf 7 x 7 wooden frame (so many custom framing mouldings are
now extruded foam!!!! This is WOOD) with a black suede inner mat that opens to offer a recessed area for one of Nan's Whimzi
Frames! The idea here was to stitch your bitty 2 x 2 project, and then put the entire framed piece (in your Just Nan Whimzi Frame) into
the center of the Show-Off Frame! Ta-da.. you have a much larger, elegant presentation! Nan has retired these, as her little Whimzi
Frames are also retired, so we cannot order more. VERY nice, they were originally $45 each.

Bluebird Alphabet
Something a little different in Nan's design style, this contemporary-feeling alphabet features soft browns, denim blues and hand-dyed greens, and is dressed with metallic silver petite seed beads and 4 small denim glass flower beads. Not flashy, just PERFECT for all the new colors and design styles furniture and home dec you see now... (At first I thought there was a Mudslide drink in the martini glass at the bottom.. it's the BIRDNEST in the letter Y -- duh!!)

Merry Gentlemen
Just Nan has several new Christmas releases... Merry Gentlemen is just one! Santa, his reindeer, snowflakes, tiny striped ornaments, doves and trees... everything circles into a medley of reds, greens, browns and whites... with all those tiny motifs catching your eye every now and then! Merry Gentlemen is stitched in your choice of Belle Soie Silk or DMC cotton floss, on 28ct Opalescent Natural Newport Linen -- which features deep red woven threads throughout to create a tic-tac-toe effect in the fabric.
Just a few Smyrna Crosses, there are larger Rice Snowflakes bordering each Santa -- they add lots of texture. Merry Gentlemen is offered as the chart with embellishment pack of gold tree charm, white and gold petite beads, and tiny red and white striped glass beads. This 3 x 3 tri-folded pocket holds Nan's newest Jeweled Owl Thread Winder! ***Is this Hootzie in person???*** A darling companion to Hootzie, the back (front?) of the pocket features 4 glaring owls, while the front features the stitched pocket that holds this little guy! How Cute is that?

The Four Seasons of Humbugs
Just Nan has finished her set of 4 seasonals... and they are darling together! Winter Hearts, Spring Frills, Summer Wings and Autumn Glory, each design is stitched as one 3 x 6 design on 28ct, and then folded in an *odd* shape -- called a Humbug! Pinched together at the top and bottom... the finishing is actually super-simple -- only it doesn't look it! Each season's design features glass bead embellishments, and each features a tiny verse that runs along it's 'bottom' edge. 'Let it Snow; Spring Returns in Fancy Dress; Summer Breezes Lift Lacy Wings; and Shine on Harvest Moon.' Nan has created special decorative pins to grace each season -- offered only in these small chart packs. Use them in your Humbug...or poke them into another special cushion -- they're cute and sparkly! Each Humbug is offered as the chart with it's special pin. Fabrics vary for each.

Hootzi Humbug
Well, WHOO can resist this darling little hooting owl? Introducing Hootzie Humbug -- Just Nan's newest tiny creation -- a four-sided little piece -- complete with stitching all around and a sparkely Charm Garden Owl Pin to match! The name 'Humbug' refers to the English name for a hard candy that is shaped like a little pyramid.
A fun shape that is easy to construct, (REALLY!), Hootzi is stitched on 28ct Light Sand Cashel Linen in DMC flosses, and three Sampler Threads. He's perched above a pumpkin patch, and his colors are a splash of Autumn Wonder!!! He comes as a small chart-pack, with complete assembly instructions, a gold topper ring, tiny plaid ribbon, and bits of glass beads -- all to finish approx 3 x 3! Perfect for an ornament or scissor fob!

Tea With Honey
Well, this is *THE MOST CHARMING* little tuffet!!! A tiny table set for High Tea... your stitches (a few Smyrna Crosses, rest are regular Cross) are adorned with a trio of exquisitely hand-painted Charm Garden Pins, commissioned by Nan! Six sides -- each approx 4 x 4 -- stitching on all of them (just a line and bee on the bottom panel) you stitch the rose garden trellis table cloth cascading down each side of your 28ct Light Sand Cashel cushion.
The top panel features a 'lace doily' adorned with pearls. 'Set' your tea table with pins of a tiny tea pot, tea cup (full of tea!) and pink frosted cupcake in silver wrapper - complete with itsy-bitsy colored sprinkles on top!!! The set of pins adds such a charming touch!
 The design is actually stitched on one piece of fabric... the finished cushion kind of teases you about that... you imagine 6 separate pieces, it is not! The chart comes with a band of pink card-stock paper that you'll see wrapped around the base of the cube. (Kind of a pretty way to conceal any bumpy or rounded edges on the bottom of your finished tuffet.) The whole thing reminds me of a delicate and delicious frosted petit four! Leave it Green
Nan has a new sampler to remind you that GREEN IS GOOD! A charming band sampler, this is reminiscent to me of Nan's early samplers that had those rows of tiny Blackwork insects and animals that were hidden in the stitches! She has rows of frogs in here... you don't *see* the little frogs, until you study it a bit... and there they are, so involved and cute! Special stitches include some Leviathans, Herringbones, Satins and some real fun Leaf Stitches.
Lovely, fresh, brilliant pinks and greens... the verse advises us to 'Leave the Earth a Little Greener', which you will, if you stitch this, because it IS green!!! A cool little stitched case to store one of your precious new Just Nan Vintage Thread Winders! This 3 x 3-ish inch case is stitched on 28ct Opalescent hand-dyed Angel Song Cashel Linen using overdyed silks and DMC flosses. See the Bargello along the bottom half? It un-snaps to reveal a wool needle page, that, when closed, will store a winder. The one pictured is Nan's butterfly.

Vintage Thread Winders
Nan has outdone herself with the beginnings of a stunning collection of Vintage Thread Winders. Small 2-inch pieces that were used to wrap and store threads centuries ago are back with a touch of splendor! Actual vintage pieces of stamped brass, the detail of these is incredible. The roses look like real roses, the lines and dot decorations on the ribbons are all clear and smooth, the filigree detail on the butterfly is swirly and even... just lovely!
In the olden days, thread winders were just a necessity... a way to store threads, even used as advertising by thread companies. (Similiar to an imprinted ball point pen you'd get as advertising today!) Every sewing case needs a few of these classy pieces holding bits of precious thread... what's in YOUR sewing case?

We have 4 new Charm Garden Pins... that come with a tiny end-cap clutch, so you can wear them as jewelry, OR use them in your pretty pin cushions! Our Orchid pins (limited edition!) feature a lovely, flowing, frosted pinky-lavender 7/8 inch orchid flower with crystal center, accented with a lavender glass bead base. Stunning!
Next, our 7/8 inch Queen Bee features sparkly wings, atop green fire polished beads -- the colors of her gardens. Presenting Merry Fifteen!
Nan Caldera has outdone herself, creating an enchanting 15-sided pin-cushion for The Silver Needle!!! Merry Fifteen is a delightfully intricate little piece -- it features 15 stitched panels - each measuring a mere 25 x 25 stitches. Snowflakes, angels, reindeer, candy canes, Santa, Rudolph, a snowman and holiday bird, a gingerbread couple and a tiny fir tree... all are gathered together... gracing all the different sides of the 4 x 2-1/2 stuffed pin cushion.
Frame each individual panel, make them into individual ornaments and fobs, or connect them together to make Nan's exquisite Biscornu-shaped cushion! Stitched on 28ct Natural opalescent Cashel linen... the lighter panels just glisten with the special metallic already woven throughout. The Ruby Red panels match *exactly* to Week's Dye Works Garnet thread color... so along with the DMCs you'll be using, this does include Garnet flosses and is joined together with Weeks #8 Perle of the same hand-dyed garnet color.
 
TONS of fun beads on here... I see antiqued reds, whites, golds and two different striped glass seed beads! One is a bold red and white stripe -- like a peppermint, and the other has the finest red and green filaments running through the glass. I just LOVE the tiny details on this... the gingerbread people are only 17 stitches high... the little Santa reminds me of our JN Silver Needle Santa ornament a few years ago. The trees are luscious -- gold metallic garland! The reindeer are precious and so is the little snowman! I know Nan has been assembling our pins for months... she was making 100 pins each night... we keep count via periodic phone conversations!!! I don't know HOW all of this comes out of her creative head... I'm not going to ask questions!!!

Counting Bats
Presenting Just Nan's upcoming 2009 Halloween Sampler... Counting Bats! Foretelling the stitcher's fate on Halloween night... bands of little ghoulies, ghosts and goblins are scattered throughout all the bands and the little verse. Pin Keeper's Garden is a fresh re-make of Nan's retired Charm Garden Pin Cushion piece -- (From back in 1999!!!) New threads, new stitches, beads and gold charms, Pin Keeper's Garden features miniature stitched versions of Nan's Barnabee, Bella and Lady Scarlet, and Reginald Hedgehog.

Sirens of the Sea
Nan's newest sampler... Sirens of the Sea speaks of mermaids and their ivory needles, singing, dancing and stitching samplers in their caves! Stitched on 28ct Meadow Mist hand-dyed Cashel linen in DMC floss or Au Ver A Soie Silks, it finishes approx 4 x 11.
The leaflet includes an embellishment pack that contains some tiny pearl embellishments, 3 colors of beads, and a silver scallop shell bead that you can see near the top, below the whale! The fish and mermaid's faces are stitched over one, and there are a few Satin and Cashmere Stitch areas for a bit of texture.
Just Charming -- the aqua-blues look very cool and refreshing -- all the colors send me straight to the Caribbean!!!

Harmony
Just Nan's newest large sampler, and it has a matching matching Harmony Tin! The four seasons are represented, each in it's own panel, stitched with overdyed silks and coordinating solid #8 perle cottons, and embellished with a golden charm. Winter is stitched in an icy-blue, Spring is a medley of lavenders, soft blues and light buttermilks. Summer is done with glistening pinks and soft corals, while Autumn has rich umbers, greens and soft browns.
I remember seeing the stitched piece at Market, and remember lots of glisteny bits in this -- so there must be metallics or beads of some sort -- I just don't remember what they were! I do remember, however that Nan had 'manipulated' her silks -- played with the color arrangements -- to make motifs on each side of the sampler match! That can really be fun when you have hand-dyed threads to work with! The panels are stuffed with tiny motifs and animals special to that season -- kind of Country French flavor -- and you really have to look closely to catch all the detail.
The perle cotton bands that spell the season divide each panel. That particular thread offers *high definition!* -- lots of additional texture to the piece. Stitched on 32ct Natural Belfast Linen in hand-dyed silks and DMC perle cottons, the entire finished sampler measures approx 5 x 18. Offered as the complete kit of charts, silks, charms, beads. Silver Needle can also provide the perles and linen, so you don't have to chase those down at the last minute!

Floral Fifteen
Leave it to Nan to take the 'ordinary' biscornu to the next level... by adding 13 more sides!!!!! I know she wasn't a geometry major in school, but she's figured out the proportions to create an exquisite 15-sided pin cushion!
Decorated with tiny motifs that are balanced, and placed to 'present well to your eye' from each of their respective angles, your 15-piece creation is just stunning!!!
 A vision of flowers, 13 different motifs, creating 15 different florals and medallions are stitched on 28ct Antique White and Mint Green Cashel linens in a garden rainbow of silks, each tiny section is stitched.

Charm Garden Pins
Oh, such delightful little counting or marking pins... stick pins to grace a special cushion or case... you'll love finding a new use for two or three for these!!! Nan's special CharmBeads have been featured, her cute little animal embellishments... and here are the results! First, we have a luscious hummingbird -- brilliant greens, lavenders and a touch of scarlet at his throat, you'll recognize him from Hummingbird Heaven! I've always loved this little bead!Next, is the Sparkle Bee -- hand-painted with yellow, white and black... this is the little Barnabee Charm Bead!!! Next, is a miniature Lady Scarlet! Nan's hand-painted scarlet ladybug is perched atop her favorite garden flower! A tiny hand-painted gray bunny perched atop a stack of gold... I think I detect a few bits of orange glitter on there... it's his garden carrot! And... last... is a special edition filigreed heart pin. (I understand this one won't be part of the regular set.) All attached to a thin tapestry-pointed #22-ish-sized pin, these are elegant, sweet and quite stunning! Flirty Bird Needle Slides
Such fun, bright colors of kiwi, hot pink and bright purple... some of my favorites! Nan has a trio of little tins that feature a sliding lid decorated with colorful wildly modern birds. Each tin has a tiny super-duper strong neodymium magnet tucked inside to hold needles, threaders and pins inside.
Measuring a mere 1-1/4 x 3 x 3/8 of an inch in size, they're great for beads and embellishments, your pills, or even a few M & M's!! Just bits of colorful fun... buy one, or all three!

Dewdrop
Isn't this the sweetest Springtime Easter Bunny? Quietly sitting amongst the daffodils in a garden of decorated eggs, Dewdrop is stitched on Weeks Dye Works 30ct Morris Blue hand-dyed linen in DMC flosses.
Embellished with a few tiny glass beads, there is a frosted aqua-blue flower bead that graces the bunny's neck. Dewdrop finishes approx 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 and fits into her very own pewter/crystal/glass frame (limited in production) which features an easel back, and overall measurement of 4 x 4

Frost on the Pumpkin
What a cute little guy... our little snowman grows from the frozen dew that frosts our fall pumpkins!!! Nan has released a cute Whimzi-sized 2 x 2 design stitched on Weeks Dye Works 30ct Scuppernong hand-dyed linen.
Offered as the chart with bead and crystal embellishments and the linen cut. This is a very quick-stitch, and full of Nan's personality!

Pretty Wicked!
Just Nan presented a *very* limited edition Whimzi at Market this past weekend... and I brought home as many as I could!! Pretty Wicked *might be* our very own Nettie Nightshade (in a 'stressed state' right before her Halloween Festivities are scheduled to begin!) She's a green-faced, pickled soul, surrounded by her best friends -- ghosts, jacks, and a bitty spider!!!
Stitched on Weeks Dye Works 30ct Peoria Purple linen (which matches Scream House!), her 2-1/2 inch Whimzi frame has been hand-enameled with an orange glaze. It's been accented with a bit of purple spider web paper behind (3-1/2 inches), and then mounted onto a larger piece (5-1/2 inch) of black mat board that has an orange core! Just the most festive little thing, the package includes Nan's original design, and the special enameled frame with paper accents, along with the 6 x 6 cut of the Peoria Purple hand-dyed linen!

Scream House, Our Exclusive Limited Edition Needlework Etui
Nan's very own words of warning...
'Deep in the shadows of Happy Hag Hollow, just as the leaves begin to fall and frost nips at the pumpkins... the Scream House comes alive! Ghosts float out the Halloween decorations, jack-o-lanterns try out their goofy grimaces, and the monsters and ghouls practice scaring each other. Hisses and moans, shrieks and groans fill the night air. Crows, bats, cats and spiders gather to watch the antics while the resident witch, Netty Nightshade, oversees it from her lovely purple rooms... Stitch it (if you dare) using the *bright and poisonous* colors of Halloween. Assemble it with care, stash your scissors, needles and pins inside, then crown the roof spires with a bat-crossed Halloween moon!!!'
Oh, where should I begin describing this delightful creation... everywhere I look there is something fun and colorful going on! Simply the COOLEST stitching box... you'll fall in love with it! Nan's leaflet cover is stunning... click this PDF to get the color print of all her pics... you'll love what flies out of your printer!!!
I'm not going to describe all the wonderful foolishness taking place on each panel... Nan's memoirs will tell all, and I don't want to give it all away ahead of time. I will tell you, though, that one of my personally favorite parts is the backyard scene. Nan tells us that Netty's ancestor, Ida Mae Gone is buried beneath the tree. Well... the gravestone reads 'I M GONE!' And, did you see Netty's little broom parked outside the front door? And did you notice the spider web curtains??? Our pics show all the sides of Scream House, and you can see how it opens. My hands are there to give you some scale.
THE BASICS: Each side is stitched individually (piece layout diagrams provided), and mounted around a stiff board. The roof pieces are joined to the walls, then all are attached to the base. The removable 2 x 2-1/2 inch
pumpkin pin cushion is made, then snapped into place. (you'll have a great pattern to re-use to make more of these!!!) The wool hat needle page is blanket stitched in place, and the green scissor sheath (matches the pumpkin stems!) can be made to *fit* scissors (see notes further on) you may want Boolah and Foolah to hold for you. The house is held closed by the wire roof spires cinched into the Visions Charm, and a bit of twisted cord.

scissors that Nan fit into her stitched model. Other scissor options would be the Dovo Preemies 21B, or the regular Preemies SN33A. The Autumn Lustre (SN38A) would be lovely. You might be OK with the purple SN41A, as they are 3-1/2 -- the recommended size. Other scissors that will NOT work are the Kelmscott Putford (SN55) style, because they are as wide as the house, the Uncommon Witch pair -- way too big. (just an FYI.)

Victorian Mourning Pins!!! When a woman was in mourning, she couldn't wear or display anything bright or flashy -- even shiny pins keeping her clothing together!!! The package reads that these are 'Fine French Black Mourning Pins. Nonreflective, discreet and utilitarian.' Well... they are PERFECT in Netty's furniture!!! They, along with the scissors are NOT included in your Scream House kit, but we do have them -- box of 150 pins for $6.50.
Each Scream House kit contains Nan's color leaflet, the 12-page stitch guide with all 18 charts, 2 linen layouts, and 2 assembly guides. Remember: we have a printable PDF of that leaflet cover, because the pictures are so *awesome* on there!!! 4 Black cloth-covered wires, custom Vision Moon charm, striped pumpkin beads, needle, Just Nan Spider Bead (he's on the roof -- I guess Netty doesn't believe in exterminators!!!), and a floss listing. Stitched in DMC and Weeks hand-dyeds, we are including 3 skeins of DMC black floss (you'll need almost that much between the stitching and finishing, and we wanted your dye lots to match), and 1 ball of #12 black Perle Cotton. Also... you will receive 2 cuts 13 x 18-ish each of Weeks Tin Roof and Peoria Purple Linen, and Nan's 'Behind the Scenes' memoirs!
Complete finishing instructions, with the hand-dyed wools, actual sized templates, and all materials needed for box construction are complimented with Pam's wonderful step-by-step photographs of the original Scream House IN assembly!!! NOT included are scissors to store in Scream House, the black mourning pins, or the 5 Weeks flosses and DMCs other than the black. Needed Weeks colors are: 1268 Molasses, 1291 Basil, 1303 Charcoal, 1311 Taffeta, and 2268 Fire.
So... this sounds like the PERFECT Halloween Hideaway! The Real Estate Listing doesn't quote square footage or age of property, but we know the house has mature trees. There does seem to be spider and bat infestation issues, but structurally, it is quite sound. Interior colors are trendy, not a lot of clutter, and resident Netty Nightshade is obviously a tidy occupant, given her carefully parked broom, her careful attention to the Scream House's Holiday Decor, and her 'designer dress' done by Just Nan!
*** And yet, again, as I find myself sitting at my desk, writing these descriptions to you... I am overwhelmed by the talents of Pam and Nan! WHO dreams this stuff up??? WHO conveys to a finisher 800 miles away *exactly* what it needs to look like? And WHO stood and laughed with me last Fall at a show when we started imagining all of this??? My friend Nan! Thank-You!

The Just Nan Stocking Collection
I just want to highlight -- in one place on our site -- Nan's lovely collection of Christmas Stockings. Each have been annual releases, and cover 8 years! Timeless designs, each is prettier than the last. Lots of horizontal bands, pretty stitches, beads and crystals, you'll notice that the top bands do not feature names. If you like, you can add that to the top of each... but I like that small tag that can hang off the side... a really classy way to announce the owner!
The Angel Stocking features a center area that will fit ANY of Nan's 15 Annual Angels... so you have LOTS of choices for this one! (You could stitch the whole family angels, using the same main stocking design. This leaflet includes one angel design.)
Little Victor -- Nan's first grandson -- arrived almost 5 years ago, and his stocking does differ from the rest. He has that darling teddy bear, and lots of tiny motifs from Nan's other Christmas designs! More color for Victor -- he IS kind of a bold little personality -- so he deserves to be different from the rest!
Anyway, quite an eye-catching collection of elegant stockings, totally different from the usual whimsical stockings available... stunning hanging from an elegant, traditional mantle! Each is offered as the leaflet with embellishments.

When Barnabee Met Bella Biscornu
Barnabee met Bella on his quest to find the sweetest flower, and here is the meeting. A delightful two-sided design... Nan has presented it in a biscornu shape... two squares that are sewn together, tufted in the center... so you have charming designs on both the top and bottom!
Stitched on Weeks 30ct hand-dyed linen, Barnabee's side is stitched on the Lilac, and Bella's garden is stitched on the Morris Blue. There are lots of specialty stitches, pretty embellishments and charming details on each side... and of course... if you are not a pin-cushion-type of person... you can always frame these! So pretty, this is presented in a leaflet with embellishment pack and the silks (charted for either DMC or silks) are offered separately.
