Our Weekend really began Thursday, when the shoppers started coming!!!
Our weekend with Barb and Alma officially began with Friday evening's dinner reception... but we started 2 days early!!!
Happy Shoppers from Canada and 23 other US states! Our shop was FULL... and you guys did some *serious shopping!*

Barb, Alma and I... While we were fresh!
See? Even our nametags aren't on yet! They had just arrived, and we had a quiet moment in the backroom before they started meeting everyone.

All day long on Friday... the shoppers shopped in the shop! ... and Terry and Alice hostessed all in the Stitching Lounge. We had set up half the space as a stitching area.. I have a pic of the lounge food... (I love food pictures)... but not sure where it is!!!
I hadn't realized how many of you had never met... but only blogged, and MET FOR THE FIRST TIME *Here!* We are so flattered... you just don't know!

Flash Album Creator Placeholder. Oh my goodness... Friday's Stitching Lounge turned into Friday Night's Happy Hours!!
Natalie (my daughter) and Nicole (her best friend) served the group with style! (They both waitress and bartend to pay their rent... so I got 'professionals!!')
Their Strawberry Cheesecakes -- our *Event Special* were Vanilla Vodka and cranberry juice, garnishes with fresh strawberries! I'm not kidding... they tasted like Strawberry Cheesecake!

Then... here comes dinner! Ken, from The Boston Deli, right next door, should be on one of those Iron Chef TV shows. The man is a food genius... and he takes such good care of us! The round tablecloths draped over the tables are some I bought in Provence during our cruise!

Flash Album Creator Placeholder. Then, on to Friday night's festivities! We're all just sitting and listening... really!
Barb and Alma told us how they met and started in business, we heard some family stories, and learned TONS of different ways we can finish our needlework -- not just by framing it!
They each had a microphone... and they knew how to use 'em! We were so entertained!!!

Flash Album Creator Placeholder. Barb and Alma brought along lovely things... the table was loaded with pretty stitched pieces, and several of their favorite samplers came along to grace the wall. The REAL Sarah Tobias was HERE!
Everything they brought had significance... a story behind it... a reason for the finishing... *something!*
We even heard about a very *unfortunate Thanksgiving weekend at Alma's house*... but she made a charming remembrance cookbook out of the weekend's menu... featuring, what else? HER NEEDLEWORK!
After we heard all the things special about each, we had a little Show and Tell

All of this was going on all day long while we were busy, busy, busy on our project! There was a lot to do!

Flash Album Creator Placeholder. We painted and waxed a little box for our pincushion... Kim was in charge of that work station.
We made little antique-y looking beaded pins to grace our cushions... Cindy took care of that station! WATCH that darn super-glue! Both Mona and I had *unfortunate encounters* and had to visit the hair place in the shopping center for full strength acetone!
We chose fabrics to back our sachets...
Mona manned the sewing machine (before she got stuck together!) and we stuffed them with LIZARD LITTER... but I guess we don't have a picture of that! Lizard Litter is actually crushed walnut shell... but the BAG SAYS it's Lizard Litter... so we're going with that exotic description!

Flash Album Creator Placeholder. Alma made visits to each table to demonstrate the sewing case and pin cushion construction techniques... She made sure everyone knew how to finish once they got home. What a fun way to talk to everyone -- just one-on-one!
Barb signed special books and notes all day long... kind of looks like Alma is doing all the work, and Barb is *floating*... Well. Barb is usually chained to the sewing machine... so we put Magic By Mona at that station...

Flash Album Creator Placeholder. So much to see... you know... NOT ONE OF US got a picture of the finished project model!!!
And SO MANY Happy Stitchers! Look at all of you!

So... this past week in the shop, it was a little quieter... we miss you all!!! Thanks for coming and spending time with us!!! I hope my pictures are worth 1000 words! THANK-YOU so much to Barb and Alma... you were a delight!
