Hi Cross Stitchers!
Welcome to our website!!!
The Silver Needle, an independently owned needlework shop specializing in counted cross stitch, has been in business since 1983.
We have 4,000 square feet of nothing but cross stitch, stitched models, and everything under the sun you'd ever want for needlework!
We relocated and doubled our shop size in July of 2002... after literally filling our old space so full that my employees couldn't get around each other in the stock rooms!
It is definitely my dream shop... I waited almost 20 years for it!

some of our favorite customers, who were kind enough to let us include them in the pics!
We have a wonderful classroom / stitching area, and a beautiful customer rest room (which we went without for the last 19 years!) -- complete with shelves and shelves of retired shop models for sale!
Even our website, which is always on display in the new shop, draws neat comments, and is such a help as a reference!
We have skeins, spools and cards of cotton, silk, wool, metallic, and overdyed threads... some of our favorites include those from Rainbow Gallery, Gentle Art Sampler Threads, Weeks Dye Works, DMC, Kreinik, The Caron Collection, The Thread Gatherer, and Needle Necessities! Whew... we have lots!

Our evenweave fabrics include Edinburgh, Belfast, Cashel, Pearl, and Cork linens; Aida, Heatherfield, Klostern and Tula, Lugana of every count, Afgans, and linen banding ... we have 42 shelves of it!!!
Zweigart, and Permin are the two main manufacturers... but we carry hand-dyeds by Blended Needle and R & R Reproductions as well!
Favorite Designers are many! We have special places in the shop for: Just Nan, Lizzie Kate, Trail Creek Farm, Drawn Thread, Bent Creek, Pine Mountain, Shepherd's Bush, Just Another Button Company, Mill
Hill, Vera Bradley, Heart in Hand, JBW Designs, Kreinik... I could go on and on... but I think the pics we can show you will say so much more than I can!

We have literally thousands of stitched models in the shop -- I think you can see some! And now we have a special corner just for our Vera Bradley line!
We're home to Secret Needle Night: a monthly kit full of specialty threads and fun embellishments that is mailed to you each month! Always exclusive, seasonal or holiday designs, we even include the recipe for the evening! Make sure you visit our page that has all the info!

We're conveniently located only 2-1/2 miles off I-44 -- the old historic Route 66 -- so if you have a chance to stop... it'll take you 5 minutes to get to us from the interstate! There are bookstores, sporting goods shops, car washes, and great restaurants near-by, as well as Woodland Hills Mall, so the rest of the carload of companions won't be bored while you're in Cross-Stitch Heaven!
There are 22 of us who work in the shop! I've introduced all of us and some special talents we have in the About Us section of the site... go check us out! You may recognize
one of the e-mail ladies, or one of the finishers, or someone you've talked to on the phone!
We LOVE our shop, our customers -- whether 'walk-in' or 'remote' -- and all the fun stuff we get to touch and look at each day. We're a great group of friends, who KNOW THEIR NEEDLEWORK!
